Do monsters drop extra drops and are there any new npc for the event anywhere?

Dedicated FlyFFer Gift Event: September 4th, 12am PST - September 10th, 11pm PST. The first character you log on each day will have a gift package placed in their inventory, this includes: 1 Event Upcut Stone and 3 Firecracker Boxes

Why would there be any NPCs involved?

Err I logged in on 3 chars and got event upcuts and firecracker boxes on all of them today.
