Default /position command ? - 09-03-2008, 02:51 PM

Hey

Can someone please make a guide about using the /position command and how to use the information to go find someone.

I don't know or I can't find anything which as a point of referance for the maps
when you type /position you get.

So I don't know how to make the X, Y Z mean anything. Except I know X=up n down on a map, Y=left/right and Z= height.

So can someone make a guide or link a map that has a grid reference plox

IIRC, it can only show your own position, and not of anyone else o.o It's used for reporting when you get stuck somewhere, etc

Actually, you got it a little mixed up. X is left/right, Z is up/down, and Y is height. Why they set it up like that I'm not sure, but meh.

As for finding someone using it, only would be to ask them for their /position, then spam it while you move around til you're headed in their direction.

Might as well just ask them for their location relative to landmarks then, it's a waste of time to try and find someone VIA position

if you just do /position that is true
however you can type in /position <friends name> and it shows u their position aswell. Why i wondered, cause I did check this it gives 2 different locations.

I just figured that someone had to of made a grid referance in their spare time

I tried, but it gives me my own position in both cases?

Also not true. Had a bit of a rant on Vent about this, like 3 guys thought the same, until I hammered it into their head that it only showed your position, no matter what you put after /position.

About the grid reference, I have seen a picture of the world map with gridlines on it showing where each X and Z is. I have no idea where I saw it, but I do remember seeing it.

Yeah, I remember that no matter what you put, it only gives your own coordinates. I remember reading that it was for reporting problems/bugs at specific locations somewhere on the official forums
