I guess I can keep two stories running at the same time

Enjoy.
(Also I'm thinking this will remain a flyffworld exclusive (unlike some of the others which I posted on the officials as well) and this is for obvious reasons e_e)
Prologue:
It all began at approximately, October 10th 2010, at ten in the morning when flyff all but disappeared.
However, to fully understand the events that followed, one must first examine the issues that preceded such an ominous disappearance.
During the summer of 2008, news first surfaced about flyff’s version twelve. Now, like many versions before, it was met with mixed emotions. Sure, some people thought that it was all lovely and dandy, while others thought something far more sinister.
In fact, there was a particularly small group of individuals that had simply had enough… and decided to begin a rather intriguing and complex plot that would only become public on October tenth, two thousand ten.
However, to reveal who these individuals are, and just what they decided to do would ruin the story I feel obligated to tell. Sure, events will be explained all in due time, however this is simply no point in rushing things.
During the winter seasons of 2008, the English version of flyff released an official notice stating that version twelve would be delayed several months due to serious complications in compatibility, however in the time in-between, they decided to release a few minor updates.
This included a rather needed graphical update that increased the maximum visual potential to something far greater than what flyff had been previous, made flyff almost respectable. Additionally, with this update came special CS-only hairstyles that were vastly superior to the regular hairstyles available through in game currency.
Again, there were mixed feelings with these updates, some people loved it… heck some people even began playing flyff after they’d quit completely. However, the group I mentioned above remained firm in the goals, seeing these updates as little distractions trying to dissipate the rather harsh inevitability that would be version twelve.
Months passed, a few more trinket-updates were released (arguably some that should have been in the game to begin with) however none were worth mentioning as most of them were cash shop oriented. Probably because you can’t teach a dog new tricks eh?
Finally, summer 2009, the official information for version twelve was released, and an estimated time of arrival was slotted somewhere during Christmas. However, this was not to be.
The group mentioned above realized that the small window of opportunity that they had was closing quite quickly. So, in a desperate attempt to increase this little window… something rather strange happened that (until now) was kept entirely secret from the players. They somehow were able to create a few more issues with compatibility and actually forced English flyff to delay the release even longer.
This time, the release was pushed all the way back to October tenth, 2010 at approximately 10am.
However the update never came, instead, flyff disappeared without a trace.
This is to say that all other versions of flyff appeared to be running perfectly normally, except for eflyff. For, when anyone tried to log into the game, they were met with the comically familiar message ‘Cannot connect to game, please check website or internet connection’. The strange part was if they were to check eflyff’s official website, they would find that it simply did not exist.
Upon arriving at the proper url, a user would find an entirely blank page. No search errors, no other suggestions, just a completely blank page. Stranger still was, during this time, all the other games owned by gpotato seemed to stop entirely.
This is not to say that you could not play them, but during this time, the scheduled events and server maintenances for each respective game simply did not occur. Additionally, no reasons for these missed events were posted at all.
It was as if flyff completely disappeared, and with it, all the other games of gpotato left to rot.
This went on for about a week.
During this time, various forums were plagued with mass hysteria and ran rampant with rumors. It was sites like flyffworld that suffered, for during this time, it was all the various moderators and administrators could do to keep the site running (semi) properly, much less improve it.
Of course, there were some individuals who remained faithful, some who believed that something significant must have happened, but there were also those who took this as a sign that it was the end, and simply quit. Sadly, these were in the majority.
Finally, what started as a rather battered and flamed thread, a rather strange message was posted on the forums:
“Salvation is at hand, for we have broken the chains that held us down, kept us from reaching our true potential. What was once lost has now been restored, to something beyond its formal glory.
In approximately an hour, flyff will be restored”
Some of the responses included:
“GTF I NOz Not TRU okadok?”
“Please no need to arouse false hope”
“IN B4 B@N”
“-Insert wall of text here-“
“WTF NO ONE’S GOING TO READ THAT ALL”
“GTFO”
And was finally locked.
However, in approximately one hour, something quite strange happened. Simultaneously, the game’s servers were restored and website was brought online.
What seemed more troubling though… was the fact that it mentioned no excuses for the downtime besides: ‘Servers were moved suddenly due to a small emergency, everything is alright now’.
Additionally this was posted in the official news category:
“For the next month, a unique update will be added, starting with today.
As such, the first update is that we have included a new base class called the Puppeteer,
(Puppeteer -> Gate Keeper, Doppelganger)
We hope that you will enjoy your flyff experience now more than ever.”
And so the rather strange and complex story began involving not only players, the strange group mentioned above, and hackers, but also the so-called remaining ‘True GMs’.
