Default Flyff Event Item Economy - 07-10-2008, 06:06 PM

Well I've noticed this with the last few events that have happened. When the event starts, the items[lets say pumpkins since this event is currently going] started off on Mushpoie at 400k each when the event 1st started this morning. When I logged on not even 11 hours later, the prices for the pumpkins dropped to between 95k and 165k each. So my question...who/what causes the prices to make dramatic drops like this when it comes to event quest items?
[I recall that during the Flying Ship Material event about a year ago I think, the event questies where going for 50k each which is lower but the prices didn't have this much of a fluctuation.]

That tends to happen with event item prices when the event starts off. People want to be the first to get whatever it is the event gives, so they're willing to dish out more cash at first. However, as the event goes on, more and more of those event items are being found and sold, which drops the prices. Also, especially with this event, the items have a decent drop rate, which decreases their value since they aren't too rare.

Yeh I see...well I guess I'm still dumbstruck since I NEVER saw the prices waver more than 10k for the FSM event of last year but since they were only 50k each to begin with, its a 20% drop in price =/
LOL so 95k per pumpkin seems pretty good i guess, i just wish the price would of drop THAT much x.x [and that you could make more than just a 10 stack of pumpkins >.>]

Well, another thing is that FSM had much better drops. You could get volcs, lights, and whanot. In the beginning of this event, people just bought them expensive just to try it out. I did that too, bought 4 pumpkings for 250k each in the morning, but then I logged on at noon, and theres people selling for 50k each. But no one really gets anything good, so thats why the pumpkins are going down.

Also, it's an event where you have to put up real cash and not just grind on monsters and be able to participate, which downsizes the like-ability of the event itself. The spring event for example: free event collector + 70k batteries + a little bit of grinding for seeds = greenbox. In this event, you have to grind and give up your cold, hard cash to join in.

Also, what is with the pumpkins only stacking in groups of 10? That's just plain annoying.

It has a way of doing that.

What I like the most is it's impact on items that were rewards and others. Amps seem to have gone down and sunstones are ridicoulously cheap now compared to before. This event managed to have some people selling suns for 2mil again on Demian, really helped out Demians economy which really needed the help.
