umm, whats the purpose of this topic?
the way i c it is that in terms of gs, knights should b better than aoe rm. the reason being is that even tho merk is good, its stationary. ppl have to b in it to receive damage. thats their main attack and like someone stated, they r just their to hc and buff/heal ppl on their team.

knights can sneaker and then use aoe or guillotine to kill ppl. then if that dont work they can keen wheel.

if u mean aoe rm vs aoe knight in gs, it usually is that they cant kill each other unless they dont run or move. but knight can win and rm can win its just about timing and getting past prevention. sneaker and guillotine from outside merk range and then that works if u get some nice timing otherwise they just spam prevention.

True the RM can't make kills but can assist in making kills :>

The knight can help slowing down people. It's debatable which one is better xD

I was focusing more on, it's a better idea to try to get into a siege guild as a Knight, cause there's a huge supply of RM's and little demand for them in siege.

rm, hands down in both categories.

knights have a shitty damage output by seige standards, where the only realistic damage output is 8k+ bombs and melee or 1hKO skill. sure they can sneaker...until someone holy scrolls? no real advantages to seiging with a knight other than keeping pressure up on remantis whores.

a rm takes their guildmate's 50k asal and allows it to 1hKO everyone else in the ring- taking away the advantages of remantis from the cs whores. they allow each of the jesters on their side to turn a 5/10k vatal into a 10/20k vatal, followed by a 40k hop. from DI. meaning that at any time if theres a rm spamming hc on you you need to be spamming holy scrolls to stop the 1hKOs that you dont see coming. on a rm there is no need to balance between having offensive damage output and defensive tanking abilities because a rm's skills are all independant of damage. hc will double the damage someone else deals if you have 50int or 500. so hell, why not have 100k hp? most bps can't 1hKO you while you allow each jester on your team to 1hKO them if they come up to asal you in the first place. so long as you have prevention on damn near no-one else can kill you aside from a bp with hc. stick some speedos on and you have a blocking, hp whoring, tanking machine that can keep your team alive and buffed as well as double the damage output of any other teammate.

how the hell is there even an argument that a knight competes?

-----------------------
aoeing, the knight is pulling at best 13-15k damage with amazing gear. while with equivlant gear the rm is dealing 12k burstcracks and 6-7k merkaba waves. who do you think wins out in terms of damage? both classes stun.

in terms of tanking- prevention, you've heard of it right? 'nuff said.

Chose RM for the obvious reasons snake stated. Problem with Knights is that they have a bad Damage:HP ratio. Str doesn't really add that much to the splmash+keenwheel skills seeing as they are from the 1st job branch and it's the only skill that provides consecutive damage in pvp. Therefore they have to sacrifice much more sta for str in order to have a decent damage output, but still end up being inferior to BPs/Psys/Blades etc

If you have insane attack/STR gear, then a Knight would better in siege of course.

seems like everyone thinks knights only sneaker, run around and die. 3 sieges ago Emilyne scored 30+ points in siege (she scores at least 20 points in siege). RMs are a help in siege, but without a fighter they can't do much, it needs to be coordinated anyway, who wants a RM that HCs (accidentially or not) for a rivalling guild anyway.

RMs.

they can be AoE, merk+crack
merk does wonders you know, sicne its like, DoT, you leave it there, run away to some place, set a merk later by one of the spawn places,

you can also buff

heal

the wonders...but you canm't tank it like a knight

both are meatshields, both can stun. both can do about the same damage.

at PVM knights are better than RMs. at siege now one uses AOE. rms hc at siege and knights go 1vs1 build so they can kill faster. thats what i think. but rangers are the best aoe class, i can asure that to you.

Snake already said what had to be said. A knight can not compete in GS utility with an RM. While the knight goes around being able to sneaker and make some kills, the RM goes around being able to assisting anyone in getting a kill and be harder to take down.

So if you want to be of use to your guild choose the RM. Get some +Block gear and whore out you're HP. Going around HCing enemies and buffing up your mates > Killing with a knight.
