Hey, so I learned something tonight. The Giant Luia can hit for a full 6.6k. I know this because I was KILLED by it about 30 seconds before it would have died. Lv. 92 Full STR BP, str and aspd awakened shield, +8 set, all the goodies. The Luia is 95. Shouldn't have been a problem, and i've killed it 5 or 6 times over the last week solo.

Yup, this thread serves no real purpose, except the fact that I believe a blessing was stolen from me and theres no way in hell I shoulda gotten hit as hard as i did. I couldn't even Pill out of that had it given me the OPPORTUNITY to.

sigh...guess I have to go back to the Tree and get nothing gianting to make money these days...

It's as bad as the freakin' Crane...

Ouch. That happened to me once to fighting carrier, but it was a double crit right before i killed it. I guess it was karma since me and these other gianters were swearing at each other lol. they ended up taking the giant lol

I think that at low hp..the giants hits rage.. therefore they hit more damage on you? I am not sure...but yeah

Yeah, but omigar 6600 in rage? that's a bit ridiculous. I've never been hit that hard by it. In fact, i've only died twice against it. That time and the time I lagged to death and got hit 3 times before my screen refreshed.

I ran into the same thing the other day, I was 91 with 50 stam after awakenings and full buffs n shit, but the thing did a double rage crit or 4.5k followed immediately by 3.3k so i couldn't even pill in between, got raped, I'm not doing luia for a while...

i solo'd it as a full dex BJ at level 90 with +8 restra +16%. Infact I remember just hitting 90 in v7 and being able to wear my set and I was like LOL IM GONNA GO SOLO GIANT LUIA FOR PENYAS.

meh...maybe it did hit me twice. Oh well, im still horribly annoyed to have wasted a blessing on that stupid thing. no more giant Luia till 93 I suppose

Sometimes they just get a really powerful crit in. It happens, and the only thing you can do is try again. I've had giants I had killed two levels earlier with no trouble one hit me on occasion. Until you're the same level the giant gets a crit bonus, so that + rage+ an extra powerful hit = ouch.

The highest the Shuhamma did to me was 5.6k, and it's 3 levels above me. So it does seem unlikely unless you're not using water on your suit.

oh, and that happened to me when i was a lvl 10, fighting a giant bang with a RM..the RM was spam healing, and the bang was hitting like 4XX, and suddenly it hit 7XX(i had 8XX), the RM was like oh shit, and healed me once, got critted again, and i died
