It helped me a lot, lol. I already have 3/4 of the 105 v7 pieces +8 so as soon as I hit that glorified level I'm taking double heal off my action slot and replacing it with Burst Crack. After looking at numerous threads in here about AoE RM's you certainly know your stuff (or else you copied it from Kira from the officials 8D)
A question though which I hope doesn't spark another debate, isn't level 18 the optimal level for Prevention and not maxed as maxed heals 120% HP and 18 heals 100%? Or is it a case of at that level you have enough skill points to waste 4 to maxed Prevention?
First of all, we got some problem with negative-positive sign.
You get prevention to work between 0 and +10%. If it was -10% as you guys say, you'd need to receive a hit making you go in negative HP. So that's plain incorrect, or much more probably, a error as math form.
Second, the crit thing is hard to believe, as giants can always kill me even if they can hit a very little more than my HP with a crit. Same for bowjesters, I get often killed even if they hit pretty low, but more than 10%HP. It happend to me very often to have to match BJs who are gonna hit my prevention, and other BJs that aren't gonna hit it because of unmatching damage/HP% (as some hits 3k and I have 16K HP, so it works, or some hitting 2K, so it won't work).
So i just don't believe the fact that it can work even on negative with the crit. Quite by experience in pvm rather than in pvp.
Also, if this is true, I wouldn't believe on negative %. I would rather believe at absorbing the crit as it was a normal hit.
You obviously have extremely little experience with the skill or simply don't take any notice to what happens when your prevention works then. If all you are going by is "this giant can do a little more than my whole HP" or "this bowjester killed me" then it isn't much to go by. You're 11x and the giants in the desert's rage crits usually have a few k range in damage while you are below them. The bear could crit you 11k and then crit for 14k on the next hit. The pop can reach up to 16-18k depending on your def as well. The giants wont hit you their max damage every time.
If you really want to prove yourself right then test it. You said you have 16k hp. Find someone who has a hop between 16 and 17k, or someone who deals a little over 8k (and use hc), make sure you're on full HP and ask them to hop you. Your prevention will go off and the damage you see will be equal to your remaning HP (since your HP is full it will be equal to your max HP), although really the damage that would have been dealt is a little more. In this way, if someone prevs my asal, I can see exactly what their HP is, contrary to if they died, I would see a much lower damage number. Oh wait on that must be an error in math form.
I dont really care if this guide has wrong info and a correction is ignored, since it has no real effect on me at all, and if this is ignored too I still wont care either. But atleast be fair to others and try to make it accurate for the people who are reading it and looking for advice.
Edit: From checking videos of mine from v11 it looks like they've made skills also activate prev in the positive side, you should still find it works for negative too though. I remember tanking some asals with prev in arena with full hp and it worked as described above.
I had lots of experience with hops cutting the edge of my HP (hours every day in arena -.-), and often with WhiteDove and OneHitCrit attacking me. If you miss those 100hp, you die. (without +STA pet, lower HP, easy to reach with a hop)
I'd just like to see anyone else confirming what you say, I'm not going to say my version is right. FlyFF is a hallucinogen, so it's not like my mind is totally clear while I play it.
I'm discussing it, not making adfirmations.
And I'm pretty sure prevention activated always in positive, at least back in v9 (deathmatches). I don't wanna talk about before, because I wasn't such an arena whore yet '-'

I appreciate the fact that you are taking your own spare time explaining the 'real' way prevention works, however...
the fact that you are saying I'm not fair to people reading this guide is bs.
I said before that I will test this theory out and THEN change it if it's true. Why? Because this is a guide of my OWN experience. If I haven't experienced it myself, why would I change what the majority of people think how prevention works to a more complicated explanation which only.. 2 people have told me about?
Plus, that explanation of prevention is confusing and may confuse people even more. Not everyone likes to know the indepth formulas of skills.
I know they made a change on prev in a maint some months back, though im still pretty sure Ive had it work in negative for me in v11. that or a few people have managed to deal the exact amount of my remaining hp. if they really did remove it then that is extremely unfortunate

It's not my job to show people the basics of the game. If (s)he doesn't know what putting a slot in a suit is, then (s)he should research it herself.
I'll add links which direct to the FW bit explaining how to do such and such if it's really such an effort..
Also never EVER put lightnings or HP in a RM suit for aoe. It's a waste if you put 7% attack over 4% attack... I believe I said thunders (not lightnings) in my first post? If not I'll edit it. I also said to put defense over HP.. .___.;; please read it all carefully before you start asking questions I already answered..
The only cards you would be putting in your suit are earthquakes (mountains) or thunders. Put earthquakes first because they're more expensive...
