There'd be too many people not willing to pay for it, so the community (which is one of the reasons I play flyff) would be torn apart and there'd be no reason for me to stay; despite all the money I've spent on the game.

I'd then probably play WoW or something.

I probably wouldn't play it anymore since I haven't spent much on the game, and I played it because it was free, and subscribing would make me need to continuously play ><

Flyff claims to be free forever though, I think.. >.> .. somewhere I remember reading something like that.. so hopefully it won't happen x3

I'd probably pay monthly if, in turn, they finally take the time to fix all of the goddamned freaking Engrish and spelling mistakes everywhere in the game, make the quests more interesting and add more quests for higher levels. Seems like past level 60-something, all there is left to do is grind and do meaningless office quests. As it is now, Flyff doesn't have enough variety in its gameplay to keep me paying every month. I'd rather pay for a game that's run more properly.

On the bright side though, it would help weed out some of the annoying little brats who play.

Unlikely. Look at p2p games out there, like WoW or RO and the like; plenty of brats and idiots and pretentious, inept noobs on those games, in equal or higher numbers than some of the better f2p games out there. The difference is the ones on p2p games feel some sort of entitlement to their behavior and mindless antics because their parents pay $15/mo for them to ass around on a game like they own it and make everyone dislike them.

You don't weed out the bad apples, you just get a worse cultivar.

Just to clarify, i set this as a hypothetical question, its never going to happen for the obvious reasons. I watched someone down $100 in less then a half hour. that is like a years worth of WoW...

In the Term Of Service it clearly, says they can change it anytime and you can't protest LOL.
They won't do it cause they get more money selling CS items though.

Wouldn't happen, they'd keep it for extra money but you might find that the CS whores who don't get much pocket money/don't have a regular income from some form of job wouldn't be able to CS so much so it could balance out a little more.

Some games, which were p2p before CS type systems became popular, are adopting a sort of CS in ADDITION to monthly fees.

Ragnarok Online, for one. I'm sure Granado Espada (Or Sword of the whatever as they changed the main title to after the beta) will, or already has gone down that route as well. RO2 will almost definitely follow.

Doesn't seem the CS feature is mutually exclusive with p2p by the month. Either a game relies exclusively on one or the other, or they adopt both without ditching either.
