~WARNING VERY INDEPTH GUIDE! FEEL FREE TO SKIP PARTS WHICH YOU ALREADY KNOW~

Welcome everyone to my (Overcast’s) guide to Flyff for dummies™! There will be small quick tips throughout to help the reader understand. This is “MY” guide for dummies and hopefully I have not copied the title of someone else’s guide. As this is my first and possibly my only guide. I hope it’s detailed enough to cover every aspect in Flyff for beginners through to intermediate and beyond.

This guide is dedicated to all Dummies and newcomers who have totally no idea on what to do while embarking on their journey to starting this game. This guide will cover every aspects of Flyff from the installation process to complex and more detailed information as choosing job classes and various builds offered for those classes. I plan to make this guide a 1 stop information shop without the hassle of people searching through other guides just to find the information they want/need. Links to other guides will be used to help me to ease the amount of information that would be needed for me to display.

With my hard effort, experience and help from members (I hope so), I plan to make this one of the best and easiest guide to read and understand.

Without anything further to mention we shall begin our journey on the basics of “Flyff-ing”!

Note: After every short paragraph there will be translations to BR (Not Brazilian but the “n00b sp3k” call BR) for people who have a disability at understanding proper and simple English.

Paragraph above summarized in BR: “ Wlcm 2 mi gide 4 dummyz I hoap u lyk et”

Contents:

Act 1- Section for complete beginners to the game
  1. The process before the beginning- Installation of the game
  2. ZOMG I can play Flyff nao! -Patching and signing up
  3. Early stages- Server and character creation
  4. Early stages- Getting a feel for the controls!

Disclaimer:

Now I know there are plenty of beginner guides out there, however I plan to make this quite special and linking all the best information that I can find throughout the web. There will be detailed pictures, tips and information on various categories in this guide. Where I am unable to go into much detail I will link to other websites and guides to aid me/you. This guide is not purely for beginners as it will cover other more detailed information past the beginner stage. Everything is pre-typed onto Microsoft word before it is placed into Flyffworld. Comments and constructive criticism are openly welcomed. All information is ©Copyrighted 2008 by me and their respectful owners.

Authors note: Please do not get offended at the BR translations; I made it purely for the purpose of entertainment and not to offend anyone. So please do not take them seriously. All information is written personally by me unless mentioned otherwise, all images are either from Flyff-Wiki or taken by myself, all links and detailed information are clearly displayed.

Current status: Under construction, trial basis
Reason: Placing it on Flyffworld just to see the type of comments I’d receive, to know if I should continue this guide or to scrap it.

Out of all guides, yours orients itself best to the needs of a new player, in my opinion. You've tackled things veterans take for granted, but often forget they're not as easy to figure out from a new player's point of view.

The structure is pretty nicely done and feels continuous. Images and documentation are also present, which help clearing things out.

Only things I'd like to add to the current state are:
1. The FlyFF Wiki doesn't include the Clockworks server; if you ever feel like updating it, feel free to do so;
2. I'd recommend the first server in the list usually, because that's usually the newest and because most newbies leave that server selected. And that means:
-least overpriced stuff (fewest amount of currency in play = easier means for people to get what they want with fewer money) and
-largest amount of new players - they'll have more friends at lower levels to explore the world with than on older servers (in which usually, the low lv. chars are someone else's 100th char supported by their perm./own rm or something, and most likely new players will get ignored a lot of the times; it's sad, but true)

Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much FiliaChan for your comments, yes i think i'll add your idea of selecting the first server, since the points you have stated are effective.

Based on the comments so far (Only 2 D: ) they seem pretty positive which means i'll continue this guide

Be sure to add the free buffs noobs can get from the Penguin early on. Makes level 1 to 15 a breeze.

Don't worry this guide is not only for newbies, if you have noticed i have categorised my sections in "Acts" currently the information i have is still only in Act 1. I plan to make this cover everything(Yes i know this is a big word but i'll try my best over time). And not only cover everything but cover them with the simplest way that i can manage.(Everything as in leveling up, monsters, items, classes, maps, pictures, builds, etc...)

Lorkin i'll get to that part. But as for now its still only on the interface information.

As for everyone else, i'm currently writing the continued part on Microsoft word...i'll edit my guide and upload the new part once i have finished another 3 or 4 chapters.

Thanks for all the comments so far!
