Plugs are a type of earring that increases def rate.. they drop from normal monsters at +0.. I'm not sure how much def they give at that level but at +9 they give 94 def if I'm not wrong.. Rockepellers can drop them as +9 and clockwork can drop them at even a higher +. You can upgrade them with moonstones as with every other piece of jewelry, max is +20 and after +3 if the upgrading fails (and you didn't use a Scroll of AProtect -cash shop item-) you lose the item.

I believe they give 44 Def at +0, most people would rather opt for demols aside from AoE classes who need the extra def.
