I've noticed when I accidentally forget to use FC I get some more drops on average.
Does not using FC give your more drops or is it just a coincidence

its FD and i think thats suppose to give you a higher chance of getting better items and GB is suppose to give you more items

FC, now FD only ups the chance of unique equipment dropping as far as i know and from what the description says and from my personal experience it hasn't made necessarily anymore drops drop (that sounds retarded) but it's just made a higher amount of them uniques.

Ok guys, I had made a post about this some time ago and I'm gonna re-write it here to explain how GB and FC (FD >_> eww) work.

The server, to 'choose' which item to drop from the monster you killed, runs through a list of all the items droppable by that monster with a percentage of dropping it and runs a random command based on that to see if the said item will drop or not..

now let's see, Fortune Circle (FD >______>) increases the percentage of dropping the item, so if it was 10%, it'd make it 15% (not sure about HOW MUCH it increases, but it does increase).

GiftBox, however, doesn't do that... GiftBox doubles the number of chances of dropping the item.. which doesn't mean it doubles the percentage... it just makes the server run through that list 2 times, so for every item the server does a double check.

Let's have an example:

THESE ARE JUST NUMBERS INVENTED ON THE SPOT, NOT TRUE AT ALL

without FC or GB:
Food 40% drop rate
penya 60% drop rate
refresher 50% drop rate
vital drink 30% drop rate
alext suit 0.01% drop rate
lightning card 0.00001% drop rate

now, with FC it'd get
Food 45% drop rate
penya 65% drop rate
refresher 55% drop rate
vital drink 35% drop rate
alext suit 0.015% drop rate
lightning card 0.000015% drop rate

with GB (no FC)
Food 40% drop rate X2
penya 60% drop rate X2
refresher 50% drop rate X2
vital drink 30% drop rate X2
alext suit 0.01% drop rate X2
lightning card 0.00001% drop rate X2

and now with FC AND GB:
Food 45% drop rate X2
penya 65% drop rate X2
refresher 55% drop rate X2
vital drink 35% drop rate X2
alext suit 0.015% drop rate X2
lightning card 0.000015% drop rate X2

so yeah, as you can see you get more chances to drop a rare item if you use both FC and GB.. don't believe people who say that when they use only GB and not FC they get more drops.. it's just luck (and yes, a coincidence).

is it better to use only GB or only FC?
ANSWER: it depends.. do you want to save points? use only FC or only GB... do you want to use points but for a very very long time without burning them all in 1hour? use only GB.. Do you want the best chance to get rare items? use both.

ps: Thiss is what I was told as to how GB and FC work, it's not 100% sure but I pretty much think it's accurate.

I didn't read Morgs post, but Bideru told me ages ago that *FC* opened a spot for a rare drop, and if there were no rare drop, that spot went wasted.

I take her words to be absoulte truth.
