and another one of my guildies has stopped lvling completely cause hes addicted to collecting. he sold his stuff to get a +5 collector and a battery. then yesterday he said he would [do something naughty] for a silver battery and i LOL'd.

Hahaha, thats ME!!
I actually stopped leveling because I only planned to get to 80 for asal. I've played this game long enough, and it's time to focus on real life more. And I feel like I've done most of what there is to do in this game. I picked up a collector, decided it might be fun, sold all my crap, +5'd it, and started. I was pretty impressed with the results with a few 30 min batteries, so I decided that I would do whatever it takes to get a silver battery, which is when I offered to perform sexual acts in return for a silver battery.
It's exactly like how some retired people start getting into those metal detector things, where you walk around on the beach looking for old coins. That's me. I'm an old and battered flyff player, and I just want to spend my days lounging in the collector area, hoping for a surprise once in a while.

he must be very obsessed because i think collecting is BORING and NOT WORTH IT because there is a bigger chance of you getting 1-5 and 5-6 element cards then you getting jewels moon sun n cloud pieces so i basically dont think its worth it

You must have not done too much collecting. You can't get element cards, just piercing cards (2%,4%,7%). It's really only worth it when you get a +5 collector and a battery. I'll know in 20 days if it was profitable or not. The initial investment creating a +5 collector was about 35m, and the battery was 30m (paid partially by stuff I got from collecting). So I guess so far the out of pocket expenses have been about 60m.
