It looks like you'll be ok for hit rate and speed (I think), if you have a rm you'll be fine moving onto H swords or axes, otherwise stick to dretras.

As far as training I guess anywhere from steelknights to drillers would be good, that's a guess mostly though, looking at your equipment I'm thinking you could probably handle it and still get a decent kill speed.

Probably Recorn if you can, the attack speed and hp bonus will help because to be honest half of all the new fs assists suck at their job, later on in levels some of them will either get better or quit.

You have your own rm? I'd say go with einy at 75 then. The sword-axe debate is relatively evenly matched until 90, when axes become much better for what you'll use them for. I went for H axes and love them, the hp bonus is great and two of them together give 14% attack speed.

Hola, I'm level 58 mercenary -> knight and rising. :P And I'm wondering; which skills should I max, except for the AoE axe skill?

EDIT: Level 60, knight, woho. Alright, wondering, should I max blazing sword/sword mastery because of guard/rage?

max axe masteries, sneaker (to 19, not 20), rage, and guard

also if you plan to CW max pain dealer eventually

for 1v1ing use max slash and keenwheel

Thanks a lot, Tankbuster.

Also, dunno if this is the right thread; "FP recovery rate decreased" - is it permanent or just for that level/some time?

Heya, guys, I just need some help figuring out the difference between axes and swords. I know, you've heard this question a million times over. Hopefully, you won't mind one more too much...

It's just that I haven't been able to tell if the axes I'm using are really that much better than swords. Each hit certainly does more damage, but I'm not sure if it's enough damage to make up for the relative slowness.

Is axe DPS better than sword DPS in general, or are they relatively equal and it's just a stat thing?

Fp recovery rate is the same as it used to be when you aren't fighting I'm pretty sure, it's just that you no longer recover fp while fighting (before v9 you used recover fp while still fighting/tanking).

Early on if I remember right swords are better for damage over time because of a better hit rate and better speed, if you're meleeing that is. Although knights going 1v1 prefer swords usually.

Later on axes are better because of bonuses (for blades, knight axe bonuses aren't really spectacular until 105, still the axe aoe is better) and they get higher damage per str than swords do. Also at this point you generally have a fs to help with accuracy and speed (accuracy and cannonball for accuracy, haste and later on GT for speed) as well as a high(er) +'ed set to help even more with accuracy (also female blades can use shaentra, the cw set, gloves (+18%) or boots (+20%) for additional accuracy). If you're skill spamming then axes will always be better because skills don't miss and attack speed doesn't affect skills.
