I am making a Blade with one of these builds.

Axe Blade

STR XX
STA 30
DEX 33
INT 15

Sword Blade

STR XX
STA 30
DEX 46
INT 15

I will be using the rescorn set until level 90 and I might use Taytra Axes/H Axes if I use the Axe build. I am not sure if I want to lower the requirement of one H Axe to 65 since it doesn't take long to reach 75 but I will be using H Axes for a long time, maybe until level 95 if I do use the Axe build so I might lower one H Axe anyway and use one Taytra for the Hit Rate. I am not sure on what to do yet, buy Angel Axes and use them at level 80 and grind to 105 or until I can afford 2 LGA or save up for LG Axes and use H Axes until level 95. I think I should have enough money to buy the Angel Axes if I sell a couple things but if I do decide to use them that early then I might as well use the Sword build and use Dreta Swords to level 80 and skip the H Axes. The Angel Swords are also a good choice to use since they cost almost the same as H Axes and have almost the same effects and it fits perfectly with my sword build plan. What I am wondering about is without the dest set the Angel Swords are not that different then H Axes and H Axes will be almost strong as Angel Swords when equipped with the dest set.

What should I do? Should I use the Axe build and use H Axes all the way to level 95? Should I use the sword build and use Dretas until level 80? What weapon should I use if I decide to go with the sword build? Angel Swords or Angel Axes? My main goal is to reach level 95 or 100 depending if I can afford LG Axes. I really want to try out the Angel Axes though. I really don't grind alot so it is going to take me a while to reach 95+ and I like gianting so that usually slow me down. I really don't want to sell my BP stuff so I will be almost starting over with only enough money to buy upgraded H Axes or clean Angel Axes and a Rescorn+6 Set.

eh...i'm juz curious, what will 80 DEX do? izit another speedbreak blades?
PS: juz to let you know, this merc is my first character and UNFUNDED so too expensive builds wont work for me...

EDIT: i forgot to ask, is the DEX required for swords and axes the same? coz i'll be using axes on later levels.

You can recorn it till 90 sure. As long as it has a decent + on it.

I would use H.axs with that build. Maybe add more dex as you will need some block for the mines

I just got 60 today and my build is the following:
xxx; 30 sta; 50 dex (no particular speedbreak);50 int(joking, it's 15)
Now what i want to know is if with my equips (+5 and +3 dretras; +3 set) i can lvl with this build or if i should start pumping dex now until about 70 or so? I plan to use swords at 75 by the way. I'm sort of happy with this build because with +3 equips as a merc i was hitting close to 1.2k per hit without failing much (i'd say about 85% hit rate) and since now i have the hit rate of dretras i'd like to know if it's enough. Thanks.

Okay, I heard people saying that Blade's were very good money-makers? tell me how then, I can't seem to figure it out, I can only solo 1 giant within lvl reach, 1 is underleveled and sometimes doesn't seem to drop something, the rest are too weak or too strong.
And when I kill, I almost never get Greens, my best green was a recorn helmet from the giant steel knight...
So... What's up with this?

Yes you can lvl with those equips. I would say pump dex till its at about 80, then str all the way to 92.

since nobody has answered i will

80 dex will let u reach both swords and axe first speedbreak (66 and 53). Now with maxed cannon from a FS you will reach the next speed break, for both swords and axe (96 and 94, not sure).

Dex speedbreaks are different on sword and axes. Swords easier reaches speedbreaks. What i mean is that sword for example reaches 66 % aspd with 66 dex, while axes needs 94.

Thanks for the answer, however what i was looking for to know is if it was possible for me to lvl with 50 dex on +3 equips (eventually +5-6 set).

Ok, so my blade is lvl 80 atm, i plan on using a +3 recorn to lvl all the way until 90 then ill be getting a dayst+8 16%. His build is 38 dex 30 sta rest str, i read somewhere that 40 dex 40 sta rest str was a good build and i dont plan on restating. my blade from 80-90 is going to use recorn+3 12% atk h sword +8 +7 water in his right hand while a dretra+3+3 water in his left hand for hitrate because of the +3 set. but my real question is at 95 with 38 dex base and a +8 set with two lg axes will his hitrate be fine? or will i need more dex since its a male char i cant use cw boots for hitrate and no money for a trans.
