Usually when I find drops, they come in spurts. My inventory will fill up with a few NPC-worthy items, maybe a sellable rare or two, then I won't find a damn thing for several days.
I miss the normal drop rates. Unless I'm the only one who believes they were tampered with after V6, along with the PD success rates.
Once upon a time. two legendary heros set out on a quest to become the richest of them all. the level 90 brm and level 80 rm, (with all buffs maxed might i add) decided to spend three days flat killing giants. level 40+ partys were bought.
The two had gotten the killing down to a fine art. being able to kill the watangka then the giant tree before letting the party skills run out. Yet still no green drops, only a butt load of cash.
They gave up, The reciently 80 rm decided to test his new aoe, the last skill which he had maxed. he fought hard against the tree, casting hc and heal while his aoe cleaned up. and suddenly, without any warning, or party skills for that matter.
A historic bow dropped infront of the rm!!!! regardless to say. the rm soon after made a bow jester, as that item was a piece of shit that you can hardly give away, let alone sell it for 12mill like everyone else is trying to in darkon, bloody wankers.
Yeah well, after a day the bowjester is 25, and i can't be bothered levleing it anymore. the end
I was grinding nutties and I got a Cruiser suit dropped and statted cruiser boots. A couple of days later I was grinding Drillers and I got the other two Cruiser parts. Kind of funny if you ask me, since I rarely get every piece of a particular set from a monster.
@merelymortal: Lucky you, but it has nothing to do with you having a blue name. My Blade had one too and he got nothing but crap. I got rid of the blue name and I got an Avalon shield and a Guardian Ax dropped in one day!

When I was training at Cranes, I got 2 Guardian Knuckles, a Guardian Ax, 2 Guardian Wands, Guardian Staff and a Guardian Big Sword, as well as loads of cruddy level 60 green set pieces.
At level 50 when I was grinding at Nuttys I got three FoR within 4hours after that I got absoulutely nothing until level 62 when a Crane dropped a guardian axe.

i have found some prettiny nice stuff too. like
arek ring plus 4
stam ring plus 4
vigor plus 3
stuff like that. hmm somthing i am not sure about, but i think when you fight giants and get nothing good from them that it raises your chances of getting something good from the other mobs. the reason is because every good drop has come a short after i fought a giant either by my self or with a friend dont know for sure but this is my insight to the matter. if anyone can conform my thought that would be cool.

I got to lvl 65 yesterday and decided to try out my new AOE on stemwalkers and got 2 inteliring +4 from the first bunch thats all they drop not even money or those stupid hot dogs. I've killed a couple of giants including the giant crane and only 1 green has drop and it was some stupids boots for acro that I sold for 20K.
One time at drillers they dropped teba hat, teba gloves, teba shoes, stick of vel parpone, 2 pd4s, and Branch of rhisis all in the course of 40 minutes or so. Needless to say, my mage was pretty happy.

I can only think of 1 story off the top of my head.
I was just a wee Merc-n00b, fighting Captain Giggleboxes, praying that they'd drop an IoC (This was pre-V6. Back when the IoC was still desired). I was getting frustrated and just wanted something to drop.
Then I kill a giggle and it drops a +5 Clip Sword (The attack rate was only 2 points less than the IOC!).
