There has been a bit of confusion over what the in-game rules and their punishments are. So I've compiled this list to clarify things a bit. Basically, if it's on this list, don't do it.

Hacking - Any attempts to hack or crash the server, obtain user passwords, or use a third party program to obtain advantages in the game will result in a permanent ban.

Duping - Duping, or using an exploit to duplicate items will also result in permanent ban.

Exploits - Taking advantage of (exploiting) any flaw in the system to gain advantages for yourself or others will result in anything from a temporary ban to a permanent ban, depending on the severity of the incident.

Selling on Ebay/Auctioning - If you sell your items/penya/chars for RL cash, you will be PERMANENTLY banned, no questions asked.

False Hack Report - Making a false hack result will result in a three day ban. A false hack report is making a hack report against someone who isn't hacking. Usually the offender has a clear, negative motivation for making this report. (harassment) The offender may often use faked (photoshopped) screenshots.

GM Impersonation - Pretending to be a GM or any member of GPotato staff, or trying to fish out users' passwords will result in a permanent ban.

GM Tooling - (can't think of a better term) Saying anything similar to "My GM friend will ban you!" will get YOU banned. GMs are not your tool. We may be friendly with you, we may even know you, but threatening someone that we'll ban them because they pissed you off will piss US off.

Harassment - If you harass other players, you will AT LEAST be muted. You may even be isolated from the main world for awhile. Depending on the severity of the act you may be suspended, permanently banned, or worse. Harassment usually involves repeatedly bothering a player with inappropriate behavior, attempting to bypass their efforts to ignore you, and so on. Other forms of harassment (such as sexual) will be considered harassment on the first offense. Use your head.

By the way, we can only police harassment in English.

Harassing GMs nonstop will also result in a ban. We are very liberal, and we are very patient, but we do have limits.

Also, if you report harassment, you must include the entire conversation. It's not harassment if you rile them up.

Language - Inappropriate language will get you muted for awhile. The only words you will be punished for is an obvious variation of a blocked word.

By the way, if you grief a player and they swear at you a little, I'm not touching it at all. It's practically a set-up. If they swear a lot, then there's a problem. So don't send me any screenshots of "@$@! you KSer!" Don't send screenshots of "**** you you ***** *** ******" either, unless the filter's actually being bypassed.

Spamming (especially shout) - Repeating shouts or normal talks incessantly will get you a mute of variable length.

AFK Skill Spamming - AFK Skill Spamming is casting spells repeatedly while not at your keyboard by use of weighed-down function keys. If we catch you AFK skill spamming or suspect that you may be doing so, your character will be kicked off the game. This will not result in a ban or loss of status.

Edit: You will be kicked on the first offence after failure to reply to a GM pm within 20-30 seconds of the message. You will be checked on again in the next 20 minutes to verify that you are truely not away from the keyboard and missed the original PM.

Your second offence will result in a teleport to Exiles.
Note: People offending on the Aibatt cluster will be instead sent to a "nothingness" map in which they will be frozen for a couple of hours.

AFK Skill Macroing - AFK Skill Spamming with a macro program will result in a 3 day ban. (eg a program that lets you spam heal, sit, spam heal, etc.)

Kill Stealing - Contrary to what some players may tell you, there is NO PUNISHMENT for kill stealing.

Putting up shop in front of NPC - Also not punished, though we will move you if we get complaints. Where we move you is up to us...so don't be surprised if you wake up in an airship or something.

Logging onto another's account - This has been stressed in many /systems, posts, and is part of one of our stickies. In any case, here's the deal. If you log on someone else's account, you do it at YOUR OWN RISK. If that person turns around and calls you a hacker, you will be banned. The reasoning is simple:
There are many complex methods out there to phish accounts, and it's becoming easier and easier to install keyloggers on others' systems. The security of our players' accounts is of the utmost importance. The account owner has the final say on any disputes of this nature. It's a very long and time consuming process for the player to get their account restored, usually takes up to two weeks to get things back to normal. The least we can do is provide our players with a sense of security, so this is why we have this policy.

If anything is not listed here, but you really get the feeling that you shouldn't be doing it, please use your head and don't do it. It does not have to be on this list to be illegal and punishable.

Happy Playing.

Just to refresh your mind.

Though I normally don't mind KS that much (if someone nabs a monster from you, oh well big deal. There are plenty out there...), I mind KSing Giants.

I've had this numerous times now, that some female BillPimper stood there waiting while me and a friend were killing a giant. Then at some point, the damn aggro captains spawn next to you, and though they do little to no damage, they crit you and knock you back occasionally. HIGHLY ANNOYING. What's even worse, is that we take a moment to kill those captains then, and the BP instantly moves in and takes the giant.

The most horrible thing, is that she always says "sry but bladez do dis 2 me all the time". So f-ing what? Does that justify the fact that you can do it to us?

I have accidentally "stolen" a giant before while trying to nab an aggro captain away from anyone who was fighting a giant (cause I know how annoying they can be). You accidentally click on the giant while the person is rebuffing or whatever, and you steal it. I instantly hit Escm back off and apologize, so no harm done, right? (people still get pissed off at even that sometimes, in which case I just think they can go fuck themselves). No, she always says sorry, but just keeps on killing it. God, I hate her. (always the same one...)

you don't have to specifically kill the aggro capt to lose the giant. even when you AoE and kill the capt that way with targeting the giant, when the capt dies you will automatically lose "possesion" of the giant, meaning you will no longer have it targeted. that is when asses come in and steal it.

on the bright side, once you have dealt the majority of the dmg to a giant, ppl can no longer "steal" it. this means they can still take it and kill it rather than you kill it, BUT, as long as you have dealt the majority of the dmg, the items that drop will still be yours. this is why some high lvl asses go away after the giant has healed, because they can no longer really "steal" it.

Yeah the new system is better, though at times annoying.

I was killing a Giant Fish, occasionally running away to buff, while its at half HP an elementor stole it while I was buffing, and he killed it(hit+run with Windfield), dropping only a couple of food and I managed to pick it up, and he was WTF!? I laughed at him and said : Serves you right. Yeah I managed to deal a tad more dmg than him. =P

Annoying thing is that you can't have a lower lvl to finish off to get drops. Well you can do this by relogging and having the lower lvl to finish it.

yea, but i usually kill it myself cuz the ppl that want to steal are usually higher lvl so i might not get anything if they kill it.

This is when you heal the monster and makes the elementor get killed when he's out of food... But nooo, you CAN'T!! And I hate it! Stupid KSers! I really want to kill them, but it's not PK-server, nad I hate that you can't heal it! GAH! Stupid monster <_<
I've PM:ed Chris about it. If they are going to introduce it again. No reply yet -_-

"...so don't be surprised if you wake up in an airship or something."

That sounds kinda funny, to set up a shop at night, go afk, come back in the morning and find your person somewhere far away from where you had shop originally. Except...I don't think, at my level, I would be able to leave said airship. Unless you can jump out...
