Hello, and Welcome to my guide for Area of Effect Ranger. This guide will
help you with most aspects of Aoe Ranger.

I think i want to be a high dex low sta aoe ranger now, can i continue like this? oh yea im killing volts at lv 50 with only +1 water on my suit(3 cruiser pieces, not suit), gaining .35% each volt soloing, should i just continue with this build then restat to 40 sta rest dex at 2nd job change?

Well, to tel lyou the truth, Dext ranger is peobably best to not use any Stamina at all, But i think rangers are meant to Aoe most of the time till way higher lvls, Becasue their armour defence rate is always fun ^_^, and second, Thier first skills are Aoe skills. But other skills liike Fastshot and triple shot are for higher lvling as in like 85-90+. Its a definate that Ranegr lvls faster at Aoeing than at 1on1 till about level 90. But eventually At level 90 im going to be 1on1 for sure.I hope that help you with your quesiton.

So anyways, after experiencing ranger AoEing for myself, I've got a few tips too. One of the tecniques(sp?) I've sound works really well is shooting Ice Arrow, then running like heck :P at lvl 62 with 68 sta (58 w/o rings) I can take around 10 Captain Garbage spiders (~260 damage each) or 5 Small Cranes (~ 360 damage each) with ease. Mind you, I only have 2.8K HP with a gore +4. I've found that this way works really well because only a third of the mobs hit you every time you stop and shoot. This is solo btw, no assist

I dont know very much about certain builds, as I am kind of experimenting myself. I'm looking at 70-80 sta natural and pump the rest into dex, or 100 sta and the rest dex.

My current stats are:
15 Str
58 Sta
94 Dex
15 Int.

Ice arrow is FTW. Always Ice Arrrow first, then the next skill, and the then repeat Ice Arrow. throw in some arrow rain to lvl it up. high arrow rain ='s pain.

all 3 of the 9x rangers i've seen aoe using a 1v1 build, meaning their mainly dex. perfect block+high dex+mastered cats reflexes gives you a godly block and evade rate, not to mention that your aoes have crazy damage modifiers with that much dex. they usually go with whatever's available, so if there's alot of people killing the mob you aoe, you just 1v1. if its an empty area, you aoe. either way you do really well

Full dex actually works for AoEing if you have a decent perfect block and elemental suits!.

Personaly i think that you arnt doing as well as one would expect.
my bet is that ur cycle goes like this.
Attack > move to next monster ( repeat till aquired decent mob) > Run a bit further > PB > run some more > Ice Arrow > run > fire arrow > run > ice arrow > run (repeat the 4-5 times it takes to kill the mob)

1) I would guess ur not killing as fast as a ranger is supposed to because u spend too much time running and not enough time actualy dealing damage.
2) you probably die quite a bit. if all 10 manage to attack you within a 2 second timeframe (which is quite possible) then they deal 2600 damage + a few crits = you die.
3) the exp isnt as good as say 15 volts or elders

Im lvl 63 killing elders (ill admit i dont have that much sta only about 64) them doing like 100 damage per hit on me i can aoe ~8-10 (w/o assist, W/ i can probably take the whole spawn). Killing 1 gives me a bout .06-.07% (w/o adv party) and i can gather/kill the entier mob in about 30-50 secs. the exp is probably much better than mobing 4-5 piders because if each pider gives .08-.09% exp i get like .45% compared to the .6% i get from elders.

At higher level's i don't think you'll be doing this unless you have tons of time. I however do now an elementor who went from 60-89 aoeing the same lvl monsters as him all the way up. But after 90 the exp you'll need to lvl is so high, the monsters that give 300k-400k exp don't do much still....plus these monsters aren't easy to gather either...takes forever...

Running just causes trouble especially in the mines. I remember i was running around once and i gather like 20 antiquries on accident, (agro's and accidentally click on them cuz they so huge). Stay and Ice arrow, then fire arrow and ice arrow. Get some pills, they will save you from dying countless times.

The most i ever AOE would probably have been in the mines, took all the 12 pinkies, about 10 pinky larva, and one giant (hatched an egg on accident). Took about 1.5 minutes to kill because of all the knockbacks. >.< knocked back right before my skill was launched. I remember i was knocked back about 4 times in a row and it launched me to the other side of the room.

If i wasn't knockedbacked, those things were dead in 18 seconds (besides giant)

Mastered PB, Good RM, and Good Equipment...the ranger is probably the fastest lvler in the game and definately the best AOEer.
