Woo~! ItsReiko's
90+ Monsters List & Stuff about them
Guide
Last updated: 14th September 2006.
Introduction
Firstly, I should introduce myself. I'm ItsReiko, a billposter - currently level 106 on the Lawolf server @ Galanet's eFlyff, but you can just call me Rei or Reiko. I'm 19 years old. My favourite foods are spaghetti and pizza. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candle-lit dinners and when I can be bothered to log into the game: AFK skill training. I've reigned highest male BP in the game for the span of around March 2006 up until now, September 2006, and also for a short while (maybe a month or two, I forget) was the highest billposter altogether (as in, > Females). A few wannabes have only just recently caught up and/or equalled my level. Oh well, good for them.
Anyway! As far as the mobs out in Darkon 3 go, I've been there, seen it all, done it all, and of course, I've punched it all. And so, seen as I have knowledge from personal experience, I decided to step up and choose to write this guide for Flyff World. I'm often bored, so I guess this is something to pass the time. This is my first guide for the Flyff World United™ project.
The purpose of this guide is simple. Basically to provide list of the monsters that dwell out in Darkon 3, from level 90 and beyond, and give you some information about them. Basically their level, stats, and also some additional information that you might wish to know.
Although there are 90+ monsters in the Dekane Mines, I chose not to include these, as the monsters in Dekane Mines should be included in a seperate Dekane Mines Monsters guide.
The current highest level monsters in eFlyff are Glaphans (level 101~104, giant is 107). kFlyff have new monsters, reaching up to level 118 or 119. When information regarding these monsters is released, I'll be sure to append any details about them that I can to this guide.
Guide Layout Explanation
The guide is layed out in a format similar to as follows:
Level #small mob#~#captain mob#, #giant mob#: #mob family name#
Also known as: #witty name for the mob#
#picture filmstrip for the monster from two angles, and finally one of it getting its ass kicked by myself#
(seen as they all look the same, just a strip of pictures per family. Otherwise I'd do one for every size mob in the family)
Then I'll go into detail about each monster, providing their technical info, stats and etc.
#small mob name#
#details including level, element, weakness, hp, atk, def, etc.#
Some early clarifications:
Weakness means the element that the mob is weak against. You should use this type of elemented weapon/suit while fighting this monster. ie. Fire mobs? use a water weapon. Wind mobs? use a fire weapon. Etc.
Efficiency is a percentage ratio, comparing the mobs HP and the exp given. Basically, if a mob has 1,000hp, and gives 2,000exp, then the efficiency ratio is 200% - you're getting 200% (or 2 times) of the exp back for the damage you deal. If a mob has 10,000hp, and gives 2,000exp, then the efficiency ratio is 20% - you're getting back 20% (or 1 fifth) of the exp back for the damage you deal.
Prevention means whether or not the monster can auto-regen its HP just before it is killed.
A marking on the minimap indicating where the monster spawns will also be provided, as well as an ingame screenshot of that area.
Additional Information
#anything else worth mentioning about a particular variant of a monster#
So I guess now, with all that out of the way, we can start with the guide itself.
Level 90~92, 95: Luia
Also known as: KFC.
If you've ever seen the pet Baby Luia before, then this here is the real thing ;o. Making those same screeching sounds and all, these monsters roam around south of the Captin Watangka spawn, and down south past the Darkon 3 lodelight. If you squint a bit, you might be able to imagine them on your dinner plate. @_@...
Yep, I want chicken. But not before the facts!

Giant Luia
The Colonel's Giant Chicken Deal™. Two chicken legs, two wings and two breasts - and it's all yours! That is, as long as no blade sneakers it right infront of you and steals it from you. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to sit around and watch for this one.
Now I don't know how and I don't know why, but for some reason the Giant Luia is in fact BLUE. Perhaps it has the bird flu? Either way, I'm glad I'm nowhere near it.
The Giant Luia spawns around in the smalls and normals area (down the eastern path), sometimes over on the western path, down the hill at the south west end part of the western path, also sometimes down the hill off the side of the eastern path, or in the lake that's down there (where some captains spawn).

Additional Information
The Giant Luia is pretty crappy item drop rate wise, and with its decent HP regen, the Luia isn't all that worth hunting. Takes a long time to kill, and brings little rewards. Drops level 74-95 equips or so (perhaps the range reaches just a little higher). Usually around the middle of the scale.
Level 93~95, 98: Gongury
Also known as: Mechanical Rat / Cement Mixer Armadillo / Gong.
Located to the east of Kern, west of Shuhamma and south east of Luia, these little metal rodent things have a horrible spawn. They're really spread out over a large area, and although an adequate amount of them do actually spawn, training on these is a pain in the behind because of how spaced out these are.
Also, they are stingey with dropping their quest items too. If you actually decide to level properly on these, then you'll get plenty of quest items of course. However, if you come from the mines and then jump straight to Shuhamma (skipping training on Antiquery, Luia and Gongury) then it'll take you quite a while to gather all the quest items for the level 93 quest office quest.
If you happen to find yourself stuck in the lava at any time while training here, use this method to get yourself out.
Unstuck me!: If you happen to find yourself stuck and unable to move, press your flying hotkey, and then a moment before the delay timer bar thing fills, press the Spacebar to jump. It takes a bit of timing to get it right, but it saves having to use a blinkwing (or town teleport motion) to go back to town to get yourself unstuck.

Additional Information
Although I said that the Gongury's spawn is terribly spaced out, the smalls actually aren't that bad. Well.. it's arguable. They're close-ish together - close enough to AoE them if you wanted to. However, they roam near to a cage in the floor/grating thing with lava underneath, and after a while they end up falling through and getting themselves stuck down there. Once they're stuck down there, there is no way to get them out. They're stuck until the server restarts =/ How stupid.

Giant Gongury
This giant has a habit of getting itself stuck in all sorts of parts in the complex terrain, so while hunting the Giant Gongury, expect to have to check under gratings, in the lava and just about anywhere else that a giant SHOULDN'T be hiding. It pretty much can spawn anywhere within the normals/captains spawn area.

Additional Information
The Giant Gongury is mediocre drop rate wise. It seems to drop lots of armor, but not quite so many weapons. Although, weapons still do drop. Their HP regen is average (50% as above) and so they're not all that bad to hunt. Eq dropped is of around level 80-100, but usually toward the lower end/middle of the scale.
Now although the Shu makes you rich, and I mention later that I enjoy doing the Kern, the Gongury actually is kinda fun too. This is because of the complex terrain and it hiding in all sorts of places, like I mentioned above.
Some pointers:- If the Gong ends up under some grating/in the lava somewhere, try to fly around and find a way to get under the grating, then fly near to the giant while on your board. Then try to land down on it (yes, in the lava) and you should hopefully be able to land there and also attack it. Some areas have a bit of room that the game will let you walk around on (in the lava), while other areas have not much room for movement at all.
- Make sure you and your RM buff yourselves FIRST before going on any excursions in the lava, as once you're in there it'll agro onto you and start attacking. While saying that, make sure that you land first and agro the giant, before your RM lands, so that she is safe from it.
- If you so happen to find yourself in a position where you, the gong and your RM are all squashed together in one position, your RM might say "Hands off the merchandise!". Don't worry, she is only joking.
- If it gets stuck under the cage (in the north eastern corner of the green area on the minimap picture) then it's stuck there for good, until the server restarts. There is no way that you can reach it or bring it back up. You'll have to just try searching for it on a different server.
- Unstuck me!: If you happen to find yourself stuck and unable to move, press your flying hotkey, and then a moment before the delay timer bar thing fills, press the Spacebar to jump. It takes a bit of timing to get it right, but it saves having to use a blinkwing (or town teleport motion) to go back to town to get yourself unstuck.
Level 96~98, 101: Shuhamma
Also known as: Elephant / Shu.
Elephants with hammers on the end of their trunks, lol what will they think of next? The Shuhammas spawn in a No Fly Zone, east of the Gongury (around where the Blade 2nd job change cleric NPC is).

Additional Information
Similar to the Small Gongury, the regular Shuhammas seem to have a fairly tight and closed in spawn (beginning at the north exit to the tunnel, and reaching all the way down through the tunnel). So, it is possible to aoe these without too much trouble if you wished to.

Additional Information
If you venture too close to the lava around in the captains spawn, sometimes you can get yourself stuck. The "unstuck me" trick doesn't work here, because you need to be able to fly to use it. This is a no fly zone and so you're left to have to use a blinkwing/town teleport motion to get out if you find yourself stuck down in the lava.
Giant Shuhamma
The Giant Shuhamma spawns in the tunnel, at the southern exit to the tunnel, and also around and down the hill at the north area. The Giant Shu seems to cause a lot of problems for upcoming blades on their 2nd job quest, as it often kills them as they try to reach the cleric NPC inside the tunnel.

Additional Information
This giant is the God of all high level giants. With its incredible item drop rate and lack of any HP regen at all, this is the perfect get-rich-quick giant for those around level 95-100. Back when I was level 100, I think I could take one of these down in around 2 minutes, sometimes getting up to 6 item drops at a time (with the Giftbox party skill). These drop level 80-100 equip - usually toward the middle end of the scale.
Also I should mention that while fighting the giant in the tunnel, you should try to keep both the giant and yourself clear from the walls. You can crit/be critted up a wall, and if this happens your RM will have a hard time being able to heal you (due to "obstacles" and such).
Level 99~101, 104: Kern
Also known as: Evil Spikey Mecha Dudes.
These things have no arms - just two legs, a spikey back and an ugly face D:. The Kerns are located south of Luia, and west of Gongury. The Knight 2nd job change cleric NPC is located in the Kern's spawn. So be careful, those who are on their Knight quest, as one hit from any of these will put you down fast.

Additional Information
Around near the Small Kerns (particularly the north and south ends) it is possible to get yourself stuck in lava. Use the same trick as you used for the Gongury area to get yourself unstuck.

These have a really nice closed in spawn with an abundant amount of monsters. Great for AoEing if that's your bucket of chips.

Additional Information
These guys suck. Not that many of them spawn, and the ones that do are sorta spread out. Also, they have prevention so they can sometimes take longer to kill than they really should. Your best bet is to stay at the regular Kerns until you can skip to Small Glaphans.
Giant Kern
Kernémon: Red Version! When these things crit, they really hurt =P. Although they are ugly, these are actually kinda cool looking. The Giant Kern spawns around the normal Kerns, both at the bottom of the hill and up the hill around the Knight 2nd job change cleric NPC.

Additional Information
This giant is one of my personal favourites. Drop rates aren't as great as the Shuhamma's, but they're still rather decent using the Giftbox party skill. These drop level 90-104 equipment (mostly around the mid-to-high end of the scale). Only problem is that even when these are just a few levels above you, they can dish out some major crit damage.
For some reason too, people like to cheer you on while you're doing the Kern, not that that's built into the game or anything @_@. Woo~! Reiko! Go Reiko! OMG UR A LIFE SAVER! THX 2 KILL TEH KERN.
Level 102~104, 107: Glaphan
Also known as: Glaph / Ghost / Casper.

lol that last screenshot in the strip above is great. I know it's meant to be me there kicking its ass, but the screenshot looked too good not to use. D: Look at its face, its like >8D. Don't worry though, I'll get him back later. ^_~
Glaphans are located to the south east of Kern, and south of Gongury. These are currently the highest monster in eFlyff, so get used to them because you'll be killing these for the rest of the game. For "the end of the game" type mobs, they actually don't look all that scary.
... Well ok, not as scary as Kerns for example. @_@
Each variant of the Glaphan has 2 different spawns.

Additional Information
The west smalls spawn is more abundant in monsters than the north east spawn, and also the area is not so open and the monsters aren't so spread out.

Additional Information
The north normals spawn is more abundant in monsters than the south spawn.

Additional Information
The north and south spawns both have an about equal number of mobs, however the north spawn is much less spread out than the south spawn, and so levelling speed wise, the north spawn wins out over the south. You can see how open the south spawn is by looking in the screenshot - that there is the south spawn.
Giant Glaphan
This is THE highest level monster in eFlyff. Level 107! Also by far the hardest giant you'll face. The giant tends to spawn wherever it sees fit - at the south captains, south normals, west smalls, north normals, and finally at the north captain Glaphans.

Additional Information
Giant Glaphan drop rate is ~ok. A little worse than the Giant Kern's. These drop level 90-104 equipment (usually drops items that lie towards the high end of the scale). These actually are meant to drop eq up to level 107, but until the new monster update their "drop level" is equal to the Giant Kern's.
Closing Comments
You may notice that as each monster goes along, their efficiencies increase too. This is to cater for the increased amount of exp that is required for you to level up. Each new level (usually) requires more exp to level up than the previous level. The numbers still can be used in making comparisons the exp you gain from different monsters though. For example: if you were trying to determine whether stay on the monster you're at is best, or to skip to the next one even if it means a slight damage reduction, if it will still put you ahead exp-over-time wise.
Don't steal my screenshots to use in your own guide/website thingy please

. All of them are my own. If you see someone who has taken them and used them, let me know.

- got most of the stats data from this website (in their HTML Offline Information Pack).
nomiwomi for supporting me while I killed the giants to check their HP regen (prevention) percentages, and also helped a bit by buffing me while I killed some of the monsters. Note however that I'm not buffed/using correctly elemented weapons in every screenshot - this explains the wide variance in damages I was dealing (between 2200 and 3500 normal hits). nomiwomi is featured running after me trying to heal in the Giant Glaphan screenshot, while I'm moving back trying to get a good screen of it as it chases me, lol. Her Baby Luia pet follows behind.
The people who proofread and looked at my guide for me, and made suggestions and stuff, while I was writing it.
Kakatuine, VASSORAQ, Kaede and Syia make appearances in some screenshots. They had no idea that their characters were going to be featured in the guide and so I should say Hi to them. =)
The readers for taking the time to read the guide in the first place.
ItsMarit and SirTenkooters for attending the payback asalraalaikum on the Glaphan (pictured below).
I got that Glaphan back. ^_^
~ End of guide.
