As you guys may know, the current infraction system is very lenient. It takes 10 points to get an automatic ban, but individual infractions aren't worth much, and it is very hard to rack up 10 points before your infractions start expiring. What this means is that the current infraction system is nothing more than a wrist-slapping system, and infractions mean little to nothing to those who receive them, because there's little to risk of any lasting punishment.
Before I go on, please note that none of our
Rules of Flyffworld have changed. Just the infraction system and our ban policies have changed.
So here are the changes. It still takes 10 points to get an automatic ban (or autobahn as I like to call it), but infractions are now worth more points, and durations have changed.
Durations are how long infractions last before they "expire." Once an infraction expires, the points go away.

Some infractions have been removed, some added, and some reworded. A brief explanation of some changes below:
- "Posting non-work-safe media - Minor" infraction is mostly at the discretion of moderators. It is for posting things, without warning and embedded, that people might not want to see. An example is posting a graphic image of a car accident victim in img tags with no warning. It is better to post it as a link instead, with a clear warning that the link contains a very disturbing image, or to use a spoiler tag with a warning.
- The porn infraction is gone but not the rule (of course). Now it is included in "Posting non-work-safe media - Major." NWS - Major also includes other extreme cases.
- "Deliberate defiance of the moderating team" is fairly self-explanatory. If a moderator makes a post in a thread telling the posters to stop spamming, and a user continues to do so, they may receive this infraction. This does not include appropriate expressions of disagreement in the appropriate place.
- "Insulting Other Member(s)" is now part of "Flame baiting/Trolling."
- "Posting/requesting game hacks" and "Selling/Buying/Trading game items/money/accounts" are now combined in "Participating in illegal activities." This can include non-FlyFF and non-gaming related offenses, as well, such as posting links to TV/anime streaming sites.

Ban Policy
Our ban policy has also changed. We now use a "three strikes" policy, where each temporary ban gives you a "strike," and with the third, you're "out," or permanently banned.
Additionally, while you still need 10 infraction points to be automatically banned, the duration of the infraction based temporary ban has been increased from 7 days to 14 days. All your infraction points should also have expired by the time this ban is over, so it will essentially be a clean slate.
Of course, moderators are still able to manually ban users if the need arises.
Summary: infractions are worth more points, new durations, still need 10 points for an automatic ban, autobans last for 14 days, permaban on the third ban.
