Default Major Lag issues - 09-14-2008, 07:10 PM

Starting form last night, around midnight in fact FlyFF started giveing me lag spikes from any where from 5 seconds to 30 seconds, so i decided to log off then back on, didn't work. So i tried closing flyff and opening it again, nope. So i logged off because the lag caused me to die 5 times and kill my dragon, I come back again and whadda ya know, still lag spikes. This never happened to me before and its really annoying because i cant train at all and i cant even arena, and even walking around is difficult, any help would be greatly appreciated :3

naw, i usually play from 10 or 11 am to about 1 or 2 pm then get back on anywhere from 6-9 pm and play until midnight. then again this weekend i played for like 8 hours+ in a row >w>
also, are you sure this could be the problem?

Okay here are my possible reasonings for this
  • Your computer doesn't have enough RAM to support Flyff that well.
  • Your computer can't handle the program for over a certain amount of hours
  • The server was extremely packed, and the more players the more lag is produced.
  • Your router fails and you need to reset it every once and a while.

Those all happen to me usually... so that's what I am assuming is wrong with yours.
And what kind of computer do you have? This can lead to a few problems as well.

i have a dell, and i have 512 RAM, FlyFF been working perfectly since then, i think because i blinked from saint to darkon in s1 and i logged into s1 darkon in the middle that caused my major lag.

512 ram is a bit low, if its possible for you I would try get 1024 ram instead

my computer is a 512 ram too and the game works just fine on there. i dont think there really is a need to get more ram unless you want the game to run smoother without any lags at all.
Maybe you need to clean out the fan because your computer is overheating?

Maybe you guys should start by determining if the lag is server-sided (everything looks as smooth as usual, just that everyone stands where they are, no1 speaks and nor can you) or hardware-based (screen freezes, hdd being worked overtime).

But my guess is, the server was crowded. Since it'd worked fine for MagnaRa before - so hardware's sort of excluded.

In this case, there's not much you can do, lag is on their side, not yours.
