If you can't or don't want to get a set of random awakened pieces, go for the the Pangrill set. It's basically a Lv45 Recorn, with the same atkspeed and almost the same HP boost-and a lower price tag. If that's beyond your reach, then you could resort to a Lv30 Comet Set, which has some hit rate and Crit.

NO, NONONO. Don't feel that you have to use a Comet set at all. I've never actually recommended the Comet set to anyone before; I just added that in case there's really nothing else. It's not a bad set, there's just so many better options. Like Pangrill.

If getting the money for a set is a problem, it's well worth fighting a few giants and selling loot, or farming quest items. Getting a +0 set is perfectly fine, so don't worry about upgrades and piercings, etc. Every set has slots; you're buying Pangrill/Recorn for the free effects.

It's no problem, really. And enjoy the Darkbin. You'll get to fight like a Ninja while actually looking like one.

Recorn isn't THAT expensive... it's like a common drop from carrier bombs... the most hunted mob at upper 60's. More common than stitch and comet put together probably.

This is what I don't understand. How come you don't have enough money for a Recorn set but you can buy a Darkbin set, which is probably more expensive if you purchase from the NPC? I would imagine if your friend is selling a well awakened one, it would worth more than the Recorn set too.

Not sure you already bought that set or what you're currently doing but if possible, could you provide the awakenings of that Darkbin set to see if it's really worth using over a recorn set? o:
