Default Some ranger help needed - 07-02-2009, 11:32 PM

I was going to be bow jester but then became the plot twist, I wanted to be a ranger.

So I changed my job to ranger but I'm still full DEX and I have some problems tanking. I could sell my GBow+7, buy a clean one and I could afford the level 75 set with decent upgrade. Could I stay full DEX or do I have to add STA later anyway?

EDIT:
I'd be glad if you could post your F-key setup too becuase I have problems deciding a good order to put my skills there.

Keep the Gbow, it's handy if you wish to giant and since it's +7, damage isn't bad.

I have no idea about your set though, so unless your hyper set is heavily upgraded, change to the NPC set. If it's +8, you could decide to stick with the hyper set all together. Since okas benefit is mostly higher def/HP%. You do however need to get Raze. Might be a bit more difficult, but at least the resell value for hyper set is higher.

You have trouble at start with the def/block/evade rate in general, so change to plugs if you have. And yeah, most high level rangers do add some sta.

As a bow, the angel bow is a great bow for a AoE ranger. There are rangers however who change to a LGbow/Bbow for highet damage in general. Mainly due to BJ's using them, it's easy to buy them somewhere.

as a F-key: I used Fire/Ice/Arrowrain/piercing/refresh/candy/pill/bow mastery/perfect block
As second bar i basically had more the PVP skills, with a yoyo put somewhere in there and FP pots.

EDIT:
New problem.

Thanks for the F-keys, I find that quite comfortable setup.
And yesh, I love the G Bow because I have 38% crit rate with it, unbuffed.

I'm planning to reduce the Raze set and not spend alot money on the level 75 set. I hope it works well with 40 STA.

EDIT:
No fast walker?

I think it will be all right :3 .. I'm just worried about your 75-95 leveling, unless you can get some plvls and such. I'm sure you can do it, but it may be a bit difficult. Btw, are you planning to invest in an ABow? They are pretty cheap. You can probably sell your GBow and get an ABow+ and +Fire after selling your GBow.

I would use Fast Walker. You actually brought up a good point, and I'm going to make a new thread asking people what their F-Key set up is now.. xP .. Going to add it to Ranger's Refuge when I get some responses :3

I've put it in my PVP list, since you only use it beforehand and if you are gonna run, you aren't first gonna use FW, because you would die.

Keep that GBow. It's still possible to go AoE (if you want that), but 60 - 74 will be hard. Buy an Oksa/Okas set at 75.

I know absolutely nothing about 1v1 rangers. :x
