Rainbow Race
Rainbow Race
FlyFFers, start your engines and get ready to take to the skies with Version 13. This summer, players will find a new reason to Fly For Fun in the latest update. The Rainbow Race is a special event that occurs only once a week. Participants fly across the continents to see who is the fastest in Madrigal; however, the speed of their vehicles is not the only factor for winning. They must also complete seven mini-games in order to finish. These test their wits, reflexes, memory and hand-eye coordination. The top 10 finishers can return to the Rainbow Race NPC to obtain special prizes.
In Version 13, players take to the skies to compete for the first time in an aerial co,petition done up FlyFF style. Rainbow Racers will battle each other with their minds, dexterity and vehicles to win rare and valuable prizes.
Characters with flying transports can register for the race with the Rainbow Race Officer (appropriately named, don't you think?) by giving her 1,000,000 Penya. Participants who are in the game are teleported to her just before the race begins. Using their gravity-defying transports made of wood, steel or cloth, the contestants must then seek out the seven Rainbow Spirits located all over Madrigal on every island continent, and beat them at their own games. Each one presents a unique challenge that must be overcome before moving on and finishing the race.
Winners are announced after the race is completed.

Couple System
One of the reasons why FlyFF has been popular for so long is that it focuses on the users as a community instead of a collection of individual players. The game has various features that encourage players to interact and play together including a specialized party system and exclusive events for guilds. These elements promote cooperative play, teamwork and social interaction. People form bonds and friendships while playing something they love and enjoy.
Playing cooperatively with other users is the core of the game's design and appeal. That is why this new feature will enhance and maintain its popularity and success.
In Version 13, FlyFF adds yet another reason why two heads are better than one, the couple system. It's true in life, so why shouldn't it be so in our game as well? Two player characters of opposite genders can choose to become a "couple" by mutual agreement. Once they form that bond, let no one tear it asunder.

Characters that have entered into such a partnership will receive special benefits and bonuses as a result of their commitment. The more the couples play together, the stronger the bond becomes. And the longer the relationship lasts, the greater the rewards received.
Basics
A. Only two players of the opposite sex can become a "couple" through a proposal process; however, it is possible for any player character to change gender by using a Transy before and/or after forming a pairing.
B. How do I propose?
* There is a "propose" button in the Motion window (Press "O" key to bring it up).
* Players can propose only once every 24 hours. Make sure the character you propose to is single!
* The character proposed to should press the "OK" button that appears in the pop up window in order to complete the bonding and form a couple.
C. There is no level requirement for forming a couple.
D. Couples can break up by pressing the "Break Up" button in the Couple window (shortcut: F key).

Couple levels and skills
The couple that plays together grows stronger together. As long as the two characters play the game in the same channel, they will gain couple EXP. When they gain enough, their couple level increases (up to a maximum of 21). At certain couple levels, the characters will receive unique couple skills. One example is called "The Power of Love" which gives both attack power and defense boosts to both. In addition to such exclusive bonuses, the players will receive special gifts that are awarded to them by mail, such as Flying Clouds, Baby Luia, and Meteo Bikes.
The couple system will quickly become an integral part of FlyFF once it arrives in Version 13, because it rewards users for enjoying themselves together. Playing cooperatively with other users is the core of the game's design and appeal. That is why this new feature will enhance and maintain its popularity and success. Usera have another feature to try out and explore that will encourage them to interact and socialize in new ways.

Housing System
FlyFF's latest update, Version 13, is set to launch in early summer 2009, and is poised to redefine the game experience with features like the new housing system.
Since all characters get their own places to stay, no one will be without a roof over your head in Madrigal. In Version 13, FlyFFers will finally get to come home.
We all know how important community and camaraderie are to any MMORPG, and FlyFF is no exception. That is why the developers have decided to focus on the social aspects of the game in Version 13.
If you've ever dreamt about settling down or having a party in your favorite MMORPG, FlyFF is about to bring you one step closer to doing so. In the newest update, each user gets to move into his or her very own in-game apartment (aka pad, flat, condo, crib, abode, dwelling, domicile or whatever else you want to call it) for the first time.
You can decorate, trash or reorganize your space, and then invite friends over for a housewarming party. That's right - we're going into the virtual real estate biz, and that means all our players are going to become homeowners in our brand spanking new housing system!
Basics
A. Entering & leaving
- Users can enter their humble abodes or trendy new flats (however you prefer to call them) by chatting with, Charlie, the hockey mask-wearing, chainsaw-toting housing manager, an NPC that looks an awful lot like a serial killer.
- Want to leave? Just click on the door to exit.
- Invite your friends over for a shindig by clicking the right mouse button and then selecting the Invite to My Room option in the window.
B. Home decor
- Various furniture and household goods can be purchased from Charlie or the cash shop.
- Purchased items are stored in the character's inventory. If the user double clicks on any of these items, they disappear from there, and are then placed in the decoration window, which can be viewed by pressing the Y key. Any household items placed in that location can then be placed in the user's condo.
- Furniture comes in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors.
- Your pets and miscellaneous accoutrements can hang with you in your pad.
- Be your own interior designer. The positions of furniture and other decor items is totally up to you. In placement mode, you can move them back and forth, and twist and turn them around before setting them down. Even after you've placed an article, you can undo it simply by bringing up the decoration window, selecting the thing you want to remove in the list, and then clicking the Cancel button.
- Once you're finished decorating, you can run around, jump on the bed, invite your friends over for tea, or polish your favorite weapons.

Special items
Some household furnishings have special effects; they can increase the stats of the player character that sets them up in his or her home. For example, a bed can boost the owner's strength, dexterity, intelligence or stamina when placed, while a table can increase the user's attack power by +200. Make sure you choose your furniture carefully.
The new housing system has a little something for everyone, and a lot more for those dedicated players willing to invest in their residences. Since all characters get their own places to stay, no one will be without a roof over your head in Madrigal. In Version 13, FlyFFers will finally get to come home.

Coral Island
The gods of Madrigal have been tinkering around in their workshop, and are now ready to unveil their latest creation - the brand spanking new Coral Island. This is an entire area designed for gobsmacking, monster hunting, beachcombing, loot gathering, sun tanning action and adventure.
Aeonsoft's initiative to create new, exciting content has been achieved in Coral Island. With increased experience and drops, non-aggressive monsters and the addition of a new channel, players will find it to be an invaluable asset
This new continent lies somewhere in the tropics, in a part of the ocean that is analogous to our world's Bermuda Triangle. Its exact location is unknown. A number of ships and transports trying to map its whereabouts have disappeared under mysterious circumstances beyond the boundaries of human error, pirates, equipment failure or natural disasters.

Top scientists from all over gathered together to research this phenomenon. They finally discovered a rare magical substance that can unlock the hidden pocket dimension that separates Coral Island from the rest of Madrigal. They infused this substance into a special card, which they named the Coral Island Ticket. It allows a user to be instantly transported to this mysterious place.
The beauty of this locale is surpassed only by the dangers that lie within. Clear blue waters skirt white, sandy beaches lined with palm trees and the wreckage of lost ships. The monsters that inhabit Coral Island are all mutated creatures from the depths of the sea. Their kind only exists within the confines of this pocket dimension. They are deadly dangerous, but offer double the amounts of experience and drops when killed.
The baffling properties of this dimension also cause monsters to spawn at a much higher rate than normal. Fortunately, they are all non-aggressive, meaning that if you don't mess with them, they won't come after you. This provides a potentially rewarding opportunity for any low- to mid-level players looking to level up (or amass a small fortune) in a jiffy.
Ranging from adorable to fiercely fearsome, each of the new island monsters has three different variants. Of course, these sub-types become increasingly stronger and more difficult. All of the creatures that dwell on Coral Island fall within the level range from 43 to 69.

To ensure that players get the most out of their experience exploring this new area, there are not one, but two channels available for them to use. When accessing the continent, a menu appears allowing the individual to select which one he or she wishes to enter. This fact there are two will help to reduce any potential lag by keeping the island from becoming overpopulated.
To take advantage of Coral Island, players need a Coral Island Ticket, and must be at least level 60. While the increased experience is very beneficial to high-level characters, the gods must also recognize the needs of FlyFF's low- to mid-level ones, and they have designed this new area accordingly.
Aeonsoft's initiative to create new, exciting content has been achieved in Coral Island. With increased experience and drops, non-aggressive monsters and the addition of a new channel, players will find it to be an invaluable asset and addition. We believe that the FlyFF community will love it as much as we do, and that it will go a long way towards enhancing the members' gameplay experience. So go ahead - grab your towel, ticket and sunscreen, and head on over to a tropical island full of wonder and excitement.

Did I read that right? To get to Coral Island you have to be atleast level 60? Doesnt that kind of defeat the purpose of low level mobs if low level characters cant even get in? O.o

This is pathetic, the Rainbow Race isn't even really a race! Its just a "who can get to the next npc and finish the mini game faster than everyone else" type of thing. I was expecting it to use the old fuel things, have an actual racing/flying track and laps like a real race! Not this kinda shit...
