So, you must be reading this because you want a simple guide to jesters and how they work, right? If so, look no further! If you want a very in depth guide that looks at every thread in a jesters armour, every stain on the Yo-Yo or Bow, then this might not be the guide for you.
There are 2 types of Jesters, the YoYo Jester and the BowJester, who are often regarded as unfair and cheap, but no worries, just hold your head high and dont listen to anyone, as long as you're happy with yourself. Don't let anyone lower your confidence.
Jesters are often left in the dark, BillPosters and Blades have taken the stage for 1vs1 classes. But those Billposters and Blades don't know what they are missing. What are they missing you ask? Insane crits topped with fast attack speed and knockbacks, what more could you want?
But maybe the fact that there aren't as many jesters as there are Blades and BP's isn't necessarily a bad thing, because that just leaves you getitng more attention. You see a high level pwnage blade, and people shrug it off as it's nothing new, but with jesters, it's diffrent, they are slightly more unique. Go onto the busiest channel in your server and go into darkon, flaris and Saint morning and look around, count the BP's, Blades and other classes you see. You will find there aren't many Yo-Yo jesters, but you might find a good few people out there wielding that bow that looks smexy. They could easilly be rangers, pay attention to thier armour. So, you might find theres less Jesters than other classes. (There definatley is in Lawolf, maybe alot on other servers)
So, if you're ready to tear up the field with your powerful Jester then look thorugh this guide, you will be very satisfied with the power you get at level 60. But why level 60 and not level 15+? Answer is 4x Critical rate. Every 10 DEX points earns you 4% critical rate, when every 40 DEX points with other classes, earns you that same 4% So get ready for those crits, get ready for the knockbacks and enjoy the ride!

Well, here're a few things that I may have a slightly different view on.
In-game, the "Snitch" skill is actually defined as "Snatch". The wiki doesn't reflect that.
As for leveling past 45 as a bow acro, I still found JA faster than crits, mainly because you'd still lack a decent crit rate to back up all that crit damag; your base crit rate won't be more than (15+118+20)/10 = 11% + 3% (F. bow) = 14% max unawakened/socketed crit rate at 60, before job change.
Also, Auto Shot works better than JA in terms of fast damage, but it's the cooldown which makes it bad. (it suffers from no success rate for hitting your target and may also decrease their accuracy) I know it's not the best skill for jesters, but rangers use Auto Shot instead of JA, mainly in PvP, to bypass someone's block/evasion rates.
About Counter: while it's active, it retaliates against the first higher-than-zero hit, it doesn't matter where the attacker is, related to your location, with one exception: it's proximity based, so ranged attacks, like bows/ranged skills will not be countered. Also, even though in PvM, the stun effect is 100%, it's not in PvP, that may fail.
About the gear:
the H bow (dex/sta bonus) and A bow (hp/hit rate bonus) are also good BJ weapons, they provide higher attack rates at negligible crit rate losses. Besides, at 90, you pretty much (nearly) max your crit rate anyway, so the G. bow becomes pointless, just lower damage.
Oh and for PvP, the Jenes/Jesis sets are preferred for YJs, you should probably add those as well.
Edit: for better HoP damage, higher attack rate yoyos are best; hence, YJs use LG/B yoyos for their high-end PvP.
Other than that, nais guide, grats.

Well, the Restra/Rasra is prefered actually, the damage of crits+40% and critical+15% beats the Ranged Atk Block+15%, Short Atk Block+15% and HP+15% With this set, your damage sucks. =/
And JA doesn't do too well past level 40 because the monsters gain more HP and defense, so you are spamming waay more JA's than you want. And spamming them results in spamming refreshers, and it is kinda a hastle with a BJ low MP. It's best to grab a cruiser/hyper and a flaming bow and just start owning like that. Altohugh some people use JA until level 60, i don't recommend it.
As for the PvP side of things, i was thinking about adding a PvP guide, but i'm not too experieneced with the PvP part, so i don't want to give any misleading information.
But thanks alot for your post, much appreciated <3

In terms of PvM, the 90 set's the best choice, indeed. I was mainly referring to PvP when I made that remark though; you'll be a HoP-er as a YJ in the arena/siege, using a HP/Block/Def (Ok def sucks to begin with, but every bit helps? XD) set benefits you more, there.
And I chose to add JA as viable past 45, too, because the 45 gear costs a truck load for the newbies, at least the suit and bow, which are worth more than a regular low level can afford, unless they're lucky enough to find them as drops; in their case, JA helps more, as they're likely to lack a complete set.

Oh i see, yeah, i don't do much with PvP, so you got me beat there. xD
