Default Hungarian Guard - 04-11-2010, 08:49 AM
So as the elections in Hungary go on, the far-right Jobbik seems to get alot of votes (15% more votes)

One of their infamous groups is the Hungarian Guard, which is officially forbidden.

Quote from Wikipedia
Quote:
The Hungarian Guard is a radical nationalist movement in Hungary. It was founded through an "oath of loyalty to Hungary" by its members in Buda Castle, Budapest, in August 2007.[2]. They are backed by and developed out of the right-wing party, Jobbik.[3]
The uniform is composed of black boots, black trousers with white shirt and black vest with the shape of a lion on its back and a coat of arms on the front, a shielded black cap and a red-white striped scarf. The Guard's coat of arms is based on that of Emeric of Hungary which features red-white horizontal stripes (aka. "Árpád-sáv") with 9 golden lions in 4 red stripes (3-3-2-1 lions per stripe).
The group itself claims to aim at "defending a physically, spiritually and intellectually defenceless Hungary"[1][4]. Others, such as Hungary's former prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsány and members of the international press have compared the group to Hitler's brownshirts ("SA") in Nazi Germany and the Hungarian fascists of the 1940s.[5

also, i read this about them

Quote:
the Hungarian Guard showed up in a small village, after the continuous threat of the Gypsies on the local hungarians.

The Hungarian Guard plans to secure the villages and towns, where the gypsy minority is causing trouble, murder, threatening and basically any criminal activity.

They said, they are going to go to any town for request to help them with the gypsy problems !
the above article comes from a white power site (no, I do not visit these, it jsut showed up in google >.>)

so basically, Hungarian Guards act like Nazi's imo. They want to remove every Jew/Gipsy from their country, and they accuse them of (untrue?) criminal activities.

I dunno, but looks like we are back in 1940 :O

well. i can't say i've ever been to a hungarian village, but it seems like they actually have a problem with the gypsies if it's gone this far. if the gypsies cause problems and are being criminals i don't see why they shouldn't be thrown out.

do you know what methods they use to drive out the gypsies from the villages?

I wouldn't assume it to be a problem myself, seeing as it's information being dispensed by a radical nationalist movement. I'm open to it actually being a problem, but not just because a wannabe-nazi group says it is. Driving out an entire demographic for most any reason just sounds like bullshit, though. Can the vast majority honestly be comprised of criminals?

Let's start finger-printing black people, because there's a supposed crime problem with them over here. Or would that not go so well?

the only times i see them they are begging money and playing music badly in the street. it's funny cause I worked for a charity group the christmas two years ago, and there were a kindergarten class that wanted to give the gypsies a pizza, but the gypsies were like "no. money.". besides that, they supposedly live out in tents but they are driven to the city with mercedeses. obviously someone is pulling the strings.

other times you meet some random gypsie female in the street and she's forcing roses on people as a gift, and after that she demands money for her sick children. (norway has free healthcare)

oh. and they don't let their children go to school because they're always roaming around. and then they complain that the state didn't educate their children and they took away their future. when the state goes as far as GIVING them apartments to settle down. and of course they just sell the house and go back to roaming.

there might be a group of people with decent gypsie decent. i've just never met anyone. but since it's stated that they target CRIMINAL gypsies that are troubling villages i think it's fine.

thing is that imo, they are just looking for a reason to throw out every single gipsy, as they said earlier that only true hungarians should live in the country.

I dunno, you find pics of the guard where they carry the arrowcross :O

wiki says:
Quote:
In modern use, the symbol has become associated with extremist right wing organisations after the Arrow Cross (Nyilaskereszt) symbol was used in Hungary in the 1930s and 1940s as the symbol of a Hungarian National Socialist political party, the Arrow Cross Party.[1] The symbol consists of two green double-ended arrows in a cross configuration on a white circular background, much like the German Nazi swastika. The arrow cross symbol remains outlawed in Hungary.
A similar symbol, the Crosstar, is now used by the Nationalist Movement, a white supremacist group based in the United States. Both are basically the arrow cross symbol.[2]

I make no claims to understanding any European cultural dynamics, but I sincerely doubt it would stop at criminals.
