Default Error when logging in? - 03-02-2011, 06:16 AM
I recently got back into Flyff and I'm on Dial up. I started the game at a friend's house and made sure to log out in an unpopulated area as well. I got the game at home, completely updated. I have also disabled my firewall and my antivirus software, and have up-to-date graphics drivers. My computer can run WoW, but when I'm trying to log into Flyff I get the error 'Cannot connect to the game. Please check the network.' This error appears after I connect to server selection and character selection - (After I've selected a character and server and am trying to connect to the world). All servers are up and I've tried most of them with the same result. Anything I'm missing that could be the cause?
(Note: I've heard of others playing on dial up and it working, so maybe they changed something and it's my internet?)

Well that's just gay. Only reason for dial up is because I live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and no ISPs have highspeed by me. That's really gay.

It could just be your connection, lately I have been playing WoW at a friend of mines house yet his internet (his neighbors unsecured internet) will run WoW yet not flyff. It could just be lack of bandwidth.

Alright. Kinda sucks I suppose, but thanks for the quick feedback. Any free MMO's out there to try instead of Fly that'd work (mostly) on dial up?

Seriously, lol.

The servers have been having issues for the past couple of weeks in terms of connectivity, so it may not be you. Plenty of folks have complained about getting disconnected, or not being able to log on.

navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\gpotato\Flyff\neuz.ini
(or wherever your flyff is saved)

It should open in notepad looking something like this. I've bolded/color red the party that you need to check. There should be no ip, it should look exactly like this one.
Code:

i think the only games you can play on a dial-up connection are browser based games, not completely sure though
