Default How to get Link Attack in Guild Siege

OK so there have been a lot of new threads started asking how to get link in siege so Tor suggested I post a guide for FW'ers to refer to. Any questions regarding the subject can also be discussed here.

First and foremost, this should go without say, but for this to be effective you need the following:
  • Red party scroll.

  • Level 20+ party with enough points to last the extent of siege.

  • You need to be able to dual log, log from another computer, or have a friend that will transfer the party to you.

Tips:
  • Make sure the party is full. If you go with your own full party, when siege starts it will merge the 2 parties giving you even more Link power. Use some trusty friends to fill for you or fill it right before siege.

  • Once siege starts you, nor anyone else in the party, will be able to press "P" or you will crash instantly. Most regular siegers know this already but you might get some pm's from your fillers in you link party because they keep crash. Personally I use the "Ignore-and-go-away Method" when I get pm'd.

  • The green party scroll that allows you to stack Link Attack indefinitely is handy. While you may not need it, it would be a pain in the ass to hit another key every 19 seconds during siege.

Instructions:

1. The first and most important thing you need to do is make sure you are #1 on the Guild Siege line up for your guild. (see pic)
Spoiler

2. Pass lead to a friend and leave the party just before entering the Guild Siege arena.
Spoiler

3. Either invite yourself or have a friend invite you back to the party. DO NOT ACCEPT THE INVITE.
Spoiler

4. Click the Guild Siege Manager and enter siege as you normally would. You still haven't accepted the party invite at this point.
Spoiler

5. Now that you have entered the Guild Siege arena. Click OK to join the party.
Spoiler

6. You should now be back into the Link Party. Its still ok to press "P" at this point.
Spoiler

7. Your friend can now pass lead back to you.
Spoiler

8. Spam Link Attack for however long you want.

Side notes:
  • You can still press "P" all the way up until the Guild Siege actually starts. So, if you need to get a quick filler you can pass lead to someone that is outside the GS arena and they can invite someone quickly and pass it back to you.

  • If for someone reason you want to link but someone else is also using link in your guild is already using the main link (#1 on line up), You can still get link for your first life by using all the same steps. Just skip step 1. Of course, you will lose your party once you die and your damage won't be as great.

If I left out anything or if anyone has questions feel free to post it here. I'll update this with anything that needs to be added.

I think if you get disconnected and reconnect/crash you lose it and it's passed to the second person, though. I'm not too sure, but that's what I heard when I was still playing.

Yup it passes to the second person in the party, if they already have P open they could pass it back to you, so its not a bad idea to have the 3rd person in the party (2nd will become 8th as they pass you lead when you enter) a person who is not AFK and knows what they are doing.

There is a lot of things you can do to manipulate link, ways to make it stronger, use it outside of top 5 etc, I'm sure Lick already knows those, but don't post those up please, at least let other people figure that out.

i leaked this "bug" to VERY limited people and look what happened. It became an epidemic actually changed everything that is Siege related. Not a chance i'll leak the other things TehGeneral is talking about.

hah thanks, I don't dropping hints so much, as long as people make the effort to work it out. I worked out 16 man link about 2 weeks before you posted it up and hate the fact even with tutorials people still can't figure out how to do it. Damn you and your leaks
