Ok now that the shock has worn off, I can try to post again.
Even though it was a single goal game, it was still damn good to watch. Thats pretty much what you expect from a final game. The two teams shutting each other down.
Unfortunately, Holland just wasnt playing as well as they should have been. Nor were they playing as SMART as they should have been. It was obvious from very early in the game that the ref was going to eat up all of the dives from Spain, and yet Holland continued to be overly aggresive with their offense. It didnt help things when they would get up in the refs face too. Like when the ref conveniently ignored a roundhouse trip on Robben when he was within scoring distance. Holland deserved a number of the yellows they got but not all. While Spain deserved a lot more yellows than they were given.
