Axes get higher Atk per Str, making the Attack Rate difference between a Dretra and Taytra misleading. Taytras commonly outdamage Dretras. From what I heard several versions ago, you're guaranteed to be better off with Taytras if you have 70str. If you have 46str, you should be getting more in the future, so I'd stick with the axes anyway. They're cheaper, too.

The Attack Speed rating on the weapons doesn't really matter, to be honest. Those ratings don't seem to mean anything in regards to dual wielding.

oh cool, i reckon that damage number put onto axes and swords is really misleading for kinda beginner players like me..

Ahhh damn...I always thought (if you dont have 100% ASPD that is) that if you equip Axes (without any ASPD bonus) that you'd end up with a lower %ASPD on your char than if you equipped Swords (without any ASPD bonus).

They're useful/important, but they don't help when you're comparing two different kinds of weapons.

It can happen, if you're using a speedbreak for one weapon while the other weapon uses a higher speedbreak to get the same speed, for example. But it's never more than a few percentage points, and any 1vs1 character should be at least 90% atkspeed anyway, if not almost/at 100%. It's a difference much of the time, but hardly something to worry about.
