WHERE THE HELL IS MY ELEPHANT

Default Guide to Joining a Successful Guild - 04-29-2007, 10:08 AM
Yep your favorite ex-guildmaster/wash-up is writing a second guide by request. Sorry for the delay, as I wrote this before but my fucking computer crashed half-way and I am very busy in college with life and such. Plus I got too lazy to retype all of this on a whim. But enough about me, on to the guide.

I don't think what I have what it takes to make a guild
Then your in the right place, this guide is for you.

So what type of guilds are there? Well there is....
  1. Noob Guilds
  2. CW Guilds
  3. Guilds that were merged together
  4. Emo Guilds
  5. Friends Only Guild
  6. Guilds that only recruit high levels
  7. Guild Put together for common interest
  8. Ethnic Guild

Wow thats alot of guilds! But what do they mean?

Noob Guilds During your hard grind to be the best Flyff player you can be, you should encounter a bunch of guilds I like to call, noob guilds. A noob guild will often have a bunch of low levels put together, often with the leader just making the level break. The guild shouldn't be too active as most of the time, the noob guild will randomly add you. These are the type of guilds you should avoid. However, don't get me wrong, every guild has to start somewhere. Unless you are in a new server, more often will that noob guild go down in flames. And if you want to join a successful guild, most guilds will want you to be a "guild virgin". Don't worry, I'll get into those later, lets keep going with he list.

CW Guilds Ah the money maker guilds, These guilds are obviously designed to fight CW. So for joining it, I would hope you know what it was made for. Just to fight CW, after all the CW are said and done, you will be labeled a CW Farmer. Congratulations!. Will explain CW farmers as well later. Also note, If you want quick cash, then these are the guilds for you.

Guilds that were merged together Ah these are the funniest type of guilds. Now when I say, guilds that were merged together, I don't mean a guild was already in place and a guild disbanded to join the other. I mean both guilds disbanded to join the other guild. You might be asking, whats the difference? Well besides you donning a new name, power issues with ego often tend to show. Guilds that are merged together to form one, usually are the gods of flyff...for a few weeks. Then they go down in flames, I haven't seen any guild survive being glued together. I'm sure it can happen, but more than likely it won't. As for a guild disbanding to join the other. If the other guild are close friends then they should do just fine. Done correctly, this can be a very powerful guild.

Emo Guilds Emo guilds, seems to be the most popular guild of flyff, as flyff is mostly a emo game, not in an insulting way, ignore me I quit the game long ago im allowed to say what i want . Anyway, guilds like this tend to want everyone to be happy. Sounds nice doesn't it? As we know with real life, nothing can be perfectly good. Once something goes bad no matter how little or big, the guild goes down in flames. It happens oh too often, and the guild becomes the talk of the gossip town. We like to call it e-drama. You can note an emo guild when people usually put all their personal business out when they barely know you. If you see this don't be afraid and just leave. A few emo's wont' destroy the guild, and if anything will leave on their own. But be aware, emo's have the power to infect you or your other guildmates, once a person becomes emo, they will stay being emo. It may not show much, but if push comes to shove it will surely come out. It may sound like nonesense, but trust me, from my experience with emo people this is what usually happens.

Friends Only Guilds Now these type of guilds are very close nit. They will often be seen doing stuff together and have interesting chats. These should be the type of guilds that you are aiming for. The pro to these type of guilds is more than often you will instantly fit in and will skip the initial phase of just getting in and feeling distant. The con is that a person could invite their friend who is emo. Bad friend! However, I do suggest that you join this type of guild.

Guilds that only recruit high levels Guilds that only recruit due to level is kind of a gambit. Not saying that other guilds don't recruit by level, but these guilds usually only have this as a basis to add people. This isn't all that bad either. Your guild will stand out the most for guild powers, and often be feared by just level alone. Unfortunately, do to the low standards of people being joined in. You could have the occasional bad egg or just a plain asshole. If pulled off correctly then this type of guild could be very powerful. Join only knowing the risk of these.

Guilds put together by common interest Depending on what type of interest this type of guild will last a long time. Things like anime are not a constant interest, and you won't have much people to pull from, not saying it's not popular, but just where would you recruit? In game? How many people would like to join a guild just on this one interest? Using the flyff world I would like to point out nowai, led by immoralsister. A guild that has a constant flow of people to choose from, should be long lived. As long as a bad egg is delt with. Joining a guild on interest will already give you something in common and something to talk about in guild chat. However these guilds tend to be low level and won't go anywhere anytime soon. But if your into slow but steady, or maybe you just want to have fun even if your 2x the level as everyone else, then this is the guild for you.

Ethnic Guilds Just as the title says this guild is put together with people from a certain area or speak a certain language. You may popularly know this as BR/FR/GER/AzN guilds. These guilds, I don't have much incite in them as I can't speak french all too well. From what I know, these guilds stay close, often little to know drama as it seems only american people can be truely emo. Just know, that people tend more than often to classify you by your guild alone with a guild that ends with BR. If you want to be with your people and don't care what others say, then this is the guild for you.

Not so fast! What are those terms you used earlier?
Lets see...

Guild Virgin This basically means that you never joined a guild before, there fore your in a clean state. Nothing good, nor bad. However you will notably seen as a good add.

CW FarmerThis tends not to be as good for some guilds, they will often think that you will want to leave a guild to do another CW run, which most guilds don't want. When you join CW guilds, alot of the high level community will look down on you, unless they do it themselves. If a guild can look pass your past then, it tends to be good or it could be just an act of desperation.

Guild HopperThis is the label you don't want, guilds that call you a hopper will tend to automatically assume that you will just leave the guild in a few weeks after you have gotten what you want. Which more than often is true so they deserve the right to do so. Only way to clean your slate is to go solo for a while or disappear from the game.

This guild is going down in flames...what do i do?

Well you can either pack your stuff and leave or you can stay and go down in flames with the ship. If you want to be true to the guild then go down with it, or if you feel this guild is going to effect you too much then pack your shit and go.

One of my guildmates and I have a problem...
Inform the guild leader, let him know. You should come together to form a mutual agreement. Squash anything you have with another person before it escilates. In the end people will take sides and someone will have to go. Which you don't want.

So what level should I be to join a good guild? Any level should do, it depends on what the goal of the guild is really. However if your a RM / FS assist you will often get into guilds quite easily. So be the guilds level, if the guild is level 80ish then you should be level 80ish as well.

Good guide but I have something that isn't here!
I gotten tired now, and I have a life to be getting to so, I think i'm pretty much done as I can't seem to think of anything else to put in this. If you have a question just post it here and i'll add my knowledge.
