Scroll of Reduction A is a CS item that lowers the requirement by 10. So you could use Dretras at lvl 50. I think that's overkill, personally, but some people like
moa powah nao.
My merc's at lvl 51. She's using a Stitch set +3 (no awakenings), a Sword of Silver Sword with +3 Earth, two Arek +4 rings, a Plug +9 earring, and a Demol +12 earring. DEX and STA are capped at 40, rest STR. With the Pang buffs available until lvl 60, now, I hit for a little over 1,000. Takes 30 seconds or less to kill a Capt. Rockepeller. They hit for around 40 damage and I hardly ever use food.
I've gotten 9 plugs so far and I haven't been devoting
that much time to this... a couple hours here and there (I have 4 other characters I'm working on). As it's been said before, it's totally random. Sometimes I grind on them for 2 hours or more before getting one. Two days ago, I got one in the first 5 minutes, then nothing for the next 2 hours.
