In a nutshell...

Rangers generally only need 30-50 stamina (that is, if you don't want to buy a restat).

The skills they need to AoE are Arrow Rain, Ice Arrow, Fire Arrow, and Pierce Arrow. You also ABSOLUTELY need Perfect Block. Other skills like Fast Walker, Bow Mastery, and Fast Shot are also useful.
