Knight Builds: 120 Sta xxx Str
50-60 Str xxx Sta [My build]
Merc>Knight Skills: Slash, Keenwheel, Axe Buffs [Or Swords Buffs But I recommend the axe] As a Knight you'll need Power Stomp, Power Swing, Pain Reflection.
Basically, when AoEing most people use axes because they have an ability to stun and work on a 360 degree angle. Where as the swords only an 180 degree, the monsters have to be in front of you. AoE stands for Area of Effect, meaning any monsters that are in the skills "Area of Effect" get dmged. To put it simply, attacking many monsters at once. I read in a guide once that AoE can also mean "Alot of Enemies" This is because some AoE Knights take monsters far too high lvled for them, and only tank about 4 or 5. The guide explained that AoE was meant to handle lots of enemies, you get better exp when you fight something weaker but more quantity, then fight something stronger and less mobs.
Some people think that the only good way is to cap your sta. I disagree, I and a few others believe, that you can never have enough sta. Whatever points you add to sta can be made up with rage, demols, vigors, awakens etc. This is why i chose this build, it gives you options, if you're having trouble tanking, don't use rage, with your high sta, you'll be able to handle it better then capped sta knights. If you find the mob is too easy and you can handle them, but are doing minimum dmg, use rage to double your attack.
Both builds work fine in my opinion.
