rm, hands down in both categories.
knights have a shitty damage output by seige standards, where the only realistic damage output is 8k+ bombs and melee or 1hKO skill. sure they can sneaker...until someone holy scrolls? no real advantages to seiging with a knight other than keeping pressure up on remantis whores.
a rm takes their guildmate's 50k asal and allows it to 1hKO everyone else in the ring- taking away the advantages of remantis from the cs whores. they allow each of the jesters on their side to turn a 5/10k vatal into a 10/20k vatal, followed by a 40k hop. from DI. meaning that at any time if theres a rm spamming hc on you you need to be spamming holy scrolls to stop the 1hKOs that you dont see coming. on a rm there is no need to balance between having offensive damage output and defensive tanking abilities because a rm's skills are all independant of damage. hc will double the damage someone else deals if you have 50int or 500. so hell, why not have 100k hp? most bps can't 1hKO you while you allow each jester on your team to 1hKO them if they come up to asal you in the first place. so long as you have prevention on damn near no-one else can kill you aside from a bp with hc. stick some speedos on and you have a blocking, hp whoring, tanking machine that can keep your team alive and buffed as well as double the damage output of any other teammate.
how the hell is there even an argument that a knight competes?
-----------------------
aoeing, the knight is pulling at best 13-15k damage with amazing gear. while with equivlant gear the rm is dealing 12k burstcracks and 6-7k merkaba waves. who do you think wins out in terms of damage? both classes stun.
in terms of tanking- prevention, you've heard of it right? 'nuff said.
