While I'm all for freedom to express yourself and how you feel about someone else, I have to agree with Moshi here. The school needs to protect their teachers and staff because if something serious happened (rape, pregnancy, whatever) and the school was ignoring it because they were too busy giving you your freedom, there will be hell to pay. Nobody (especially a parent) is ever rational when stuff like that is going down, and they will drag teachers and other parents and kids down into the mud to get 'justice' for their child.

I would rather have a case by case basis for rules like that, because hugging is fine and some kissing is okay too, but if you're basically having foreplay with your clothes on in the hallway, it's disgusting, inappropriate and pathetic. I had to deal with it in high school all the time, and it messed up the flow in the hallway. When you only have a certain amount of time to get to your next class across the other side of the school, you're ready to kick everyone out of the way, especially those lovebirds. But because everyone's irrational and parents bitch about everything, schools are pretty much required to have a zero tolerance policy, as Moshi said, to cover their asses.

Teachers don't make much money, don't get innocent ones in trouble for trying to keep you from looking like a slut.
